Fun fact: the Waka Waka song "from" Shakira is actually an Cameroonian Song, sang by the Cameroon an military 😉. Sooooo... Shakira kinda stole the lyrics and most Cameroonian people (like my mom) kinda get triggered when they hear that song 😂😂
Desert Shakira cannot steal that music or anything pertaining to that song by zangalewa! In fact, she got rights to use it, putting Cameroon 🇨🇲 again on the map and giving credits to that military musical group Zangalewa. Also, giving us that love and connection to soccer on so many levels without mentioning Roger Milla (one of the greatest soccer player of all times), or as Americans would say “Roger Miller”!
Gentle Guy well, I don't think Ghana is an enemy...Nigerian and Ghana are like the only anglophone nations in West Africa, as both members if ECOWAS, we share a no-visa policy, Ghana and Nigeria also have a lot of bilateral trade, the past might have not been as good, but today...Nigeria and Ghana love each other.
@@Nzambi237 This country isn't a relevant and standard country. People are suffering there because of the greed of the president who ruled for 40 years especially in the anglophone regions where over 30000 people has been killed and over 800000 people has fled their homes due to the bad ruling of cameroon. Ever since 2015(the start of anglophone crisis)employment rate has dropped darastically . Cameroon needs help and its not up to the African standard
unfortunately there is a civil war going on there right now but you can go to the capitol city (yaoundé) and be okay. be safe and happy travels :) stay away from bamenda
If I ever start a band here I'll make sure I have 4 other guys in my crew and call it "Cam-aroon 5" Oh and for the record YES I know I misspelled "Understand" in the demographics and YES I know the translation of "Assez bien" is not the best way of phrasing it, ENJOY GEOGRAPEEPS! -Barby
Man. You are criminally undersubscribed! I wish my geography teachers were this charismatic, funny and enthusiastic in my schools. Thank you for making me like geography again.
+Eugen Afanasjev "Criminally undersubscribed" i like the word you choose. Maybe because he don't have viral videos yet. maybe when it come to USA or UK (England) or whatever he will hit millions views in one vids. and his chanel will start growing from there
***** My bad, maybe i should say there America (US) and UK (England). or just simply America and England. i just don't want to starting read those nonsense comment about "Which america that you mean? i'm from america too" , "America isn't a country you know. it's a whole continent" and so on and so on....
Good illustrative analogies indeed. However, Cameroon is generally referred too as THE TRIANGLE (like The Hexagon for France, and The Boot for Italy, for example).
+Nohfegea 10:49 actually means "it's quite good" ; it's badly written in French. We could have written/said something like "Presque". 10:20 says "I love you my little pumkin" but we never use pumkin for that expression (it should be "je t'aime mon petit chou (cabbage)").
Also barby, please say loudly that it's pretty hard to count the density of the population of VC because it's half a square kilometer, so technically there would be two popes per square kilometer.
Nicely Bee Naaa. thats not the map of cameroun. First no ex french colony speaks english.. soo there is no english speaking part. Thats a government lie. Southern cameroons or Ambazonia is a seperate independent country.okay. cameroun and southern cameroons have never been one . that too is a cameroun government lie. kamerun of germany was 5 territory. ie togo. chad. cameroun southern cameroons gabon. soo to fool the world. the bulu .beti tribal rulers lie of one kamerun.. never exist. The name cameroon is different to many people just luke guinea. congo. sudan.
French cameroun is declared war on Ambazonia. and. its. not a country but 5he worst dictatorship. fail state murderoys cabal in the world. i dont know where you got your facts. but you are repeating that government propanganda
You are so brainwashed. Corruption isn't the issue in Cameroon. Because if we talk about corruption, Europe and America are MUCH MORE corrupt than Africa (except they hide it and you don't question it). The issue is its endless ties to France. Just read the independence treaty between France and Cameroon. Please stop trying to speak for a country you know nothing about, it's seriously insulting. And keep your fake pity with you, we don't need it.
Melody Headburn yes so corrupt that we can vote for a president every 4 year, for senators every 6 years and for Representatives (400+) every 2 years. So corrupt upt that if the president wants to do something wrong the senate alone can stop that. So corrupt that you can impeach the president, so corrupt that transparency International rank the west in the top 10 and the US in the top 20. So corrupt that you have freedom of speech, freedom of religion and the freedom to compete against the president for the next elections, so corrupt that the president has to have a team and a Vice President to make decisions with him, so corrupt that the president can’t pas laws in the country if the majority of representatives and senators vote with him, so corrupt that the president can’t declare War only the senate can. Wow this country is so corrupt that there are so much people from different races and religions and regions in power. Too corrupt.
Nice video. you did really well, Cameroon is so diverse with totally different people and different cultures but yet they live with so much harmony and love #ilovemycountry
I just want to say huge thank you to you guys for making this video, from the bottom of my Cameroonian heart. Je vous remercie abondamment pour avoir fais cette vidéo. Vous avez une place spéciale dans mon coeur Camerounais
I am Cameroonian and I am impressed you know so much things about Cameroon given that you might certainly have never been then. Well, because of our diverse population, English speaking Cameroon are generally close to Nigerians, French Speaking Cameroonians are close to other french speaking countries around (Gabon, Republic of Congo, Central Africa Republic) and even further (Cote d'Ivoire). Littoral isn't original either! It is a french word that means "on the seaside". You forgot to mention that a lot of African Americans traced their roots to Cameroon (including the William Sisters, Ophrah Winfrey, Condoleeza Wright, etc.)
+boborigue hey, I would really apreciate it if you could help me out. I can't find the song lyrics to this song: "wes - kekana". If you know the song, could you pls type the lyrics out for me?
Lots of the (admittedly few) Black people in Germany, too. I assume they all have to buy their makeup on the internet, though I hope this will change now that we have way more immigrants living here.
I lived in Buea for 2 years, 15 years ago. Such a beautifull place full of mostly friendly people. I made a lot of friends, and taste a lot of good food, specially water fufu and eru and achu with yellow soup. One of my favourites was Tartina with bread also. It makes me very sad to know that the place has been in war for years.
Probably not the most successful country but definitely an amazing country! Before I die I just have to visit Cameroon once! 😁👍 Greetings from the Netherlands!
Point of correction! The red color is for the blood our forefathers shed during the war of decolonization. The star is for the unity of the English speaking and the French speaking Cameroon. Indeed, prior to the reunification, we actually had two yellow stars on the green side of the flag and it was called the Federal Republic of Cameroon that later became the Republic of Cameroon. Nice video!
@@joyceatanga1938 Not officially. Officially the RED stands for UNITY and the star the guidance of unity like he said. He uses official documents when making his videos
French is the language of 85% of Cameroonians, use French as much as you're able to ! Cela dit vive l'Inde et vive en particulier Pondichéry et tous ceux qui parlent ou apprennent le français en Inde ! 🇮🇳❤🇫🇷
I applaud you for creating this video. You totally nailed it bro. It takes great talent and so much research to come up with such a presentation that resonates with a native Cameroonian. Thanks for mentioning Lake Nyos and Mount Fako. Experiencing the 2000 Mount Fako eruption was like doomsday where your only preparation was to hope that the lava doesn't flow into your house if the house survived the earthquakes that occured during the eruption. Kudos.
As a fellow Cameroonian, i have to say i really did enjoy this episode, the information wasn't watered-down as most schools/organization would tend to do so. i didn't want the video to end, there was so much more i wish we had time to cover but all in all great video. i must also point out that although in the general sense everyone gets along with everyone (within the nation), there have been very strong evidences of tribalism where one tribe believes themselves to be superior to the other. there was bad blood between the two former president (allegedly) being that Ahidjo was from the north and Biya is from the east and there was the whole coup d'état thing that happened. following this event are the allegations that people from the east attempted an ethnic-cleansing on the people belonging to the north. Anyway thanks for sharing info on our country, hopefully some interesting questions and convos relating to the country will be brought up in these comment sections lol keep up the good work. P.S for those asking, the city that was mispronounced is pronounced Dou-wah-lah (Douala), la capitale économique du Cameroun.
watch my most recent youtube video "Dying" to see what's going on in Cameroon...what the government has been hiding...please help me raise awareness...
This is my Country, I reside in Ngaoundere, I study there, though I grew up in Yaounde. I am from the tribe of Ngie, in the northwest region of the country. And yeah, when it comes to natural resources, we are rich!!! And we have great food too, visit us guys!!!
Yeah right. Nigeria and Cameroon have pretty good ties. The are many Nigerians living and doing business in Cameroon and vice versa. Many of the tribes stretch across the borders btw cmr and ngr.
I am a Cameroonian born in Yaoundé. Very nice video and thanks for taking the time to learn our country like you did. Weird fact : the girl you pictured at 3:23 is actually a best friend of mine who lives in Douala, we studied at the University of Douala for 3 years. I now live in Canada which you nailed a s well, but miss my homeland so much.
+UchawiBeatz2K16 It's so nice to see Cameroonians here :) In my country(Taiwan, located in Far East), we think of Cameroon as a peaceful country in Africa!

Came here hoping to learn about the Cameroonian civil war and the “anglophone problem”. Sad it was not mentioned but fan of the content on the channel. Thank you for all your hard work.
Don't know. However, FOR SURE, Cameroon raised money and assembled the 1st French resistance army in WWII when De Gaule came begging... And by the way, the capital of the exiled resistance government of France (when under Nazi German occupation) was Brazzaville in the current Republic of Congo.
Nice presentation Paul B. I just realised that your name is similar to Paul Biya, the old man on the Cameroonian throne. Oh and for sure Cameroon is the best country to visit in Africa to get 'The All African Experience' in one country and spending less money. The food there is good and cheap. Very easy to navigate through the country if you got cash.

Congratulations to Cameroon's own Francis ngannou on becoming the 3rd African to win a UFC championship after Knockibg out stipe Miocic at ufc 260 this past Saturday.
Nigeria and Cameroon have similar geography: deserts, Savannah grasslands, mountains and tropical rain forest... the benue river in Nigeria starts from the rain forest of Cameroon.
Oh my god, this is my first time watching your video, and I really love it!! Your channel is so useful, it make me feeling like traveling around the world :) Love from Indonesia 🇮🇩
I saw this vid on facebook. Then started looking for its main source, happy I found. I studied Travel and Tourism with the foremost intent to present #Cameroon (my home) like you to the world. I'm amazed and grateful. I even added this to my Cameroon Tourism playlist. Thank you!
Cameroon, officially the Republic of Cameroon, is a country in Central Africa. It is bordered by Nigeria to the west and north; Chad to the northeast; the Central African Republic to the east; and Equatorial Guinea, Gabon and the Republic of the Congo to the south. Cameroon's coastline lies on the Bight of Biafra, part of the Gulf of Guinea and the Atlantic Ocean. Although Cameroon is not an ECOWAS member state, it is geographically and historically in West Africa with the Southern Cameroons which now form her Nord-Ouest and Sud-Ouest Regions having a strong West African history. However, since 2017, elements within the Sud-Ouest and Nord-Ouest regions have since declared an independent (yet internationally unrecognized) state called Ambazonia. The country is sometimes identified as West African and other times as Central African due to its strategic position at the crossroads between West and Central Africa. Cameroon is home to over 250 native languages spoken by nearly 20 million people.
That was an excellent video. I would like to hear your comments on the recent disturbances in Cameroon and whether they might really result in civil war.
I've been learning French since January 2015 and I'm very comfortable in it already! I saw the French in the video and just translated it immediately on my head without pausing the video! J'apprends le français depuis janvier deux mille quinze et je le parle très bien! J'ai vu le français dans cette vidéo et j'ai fait la traduction sans arrêt de vidéo! Looking forward to Canada!!!!!!
Hey Barb! Love your show! Am guessing this Cameroon post is among the earlier ones you posted and that you hadn't yet begun to list famous people from those countries. So here's some trivia on Cameroon. That great pioneer of Disco 'Manu Djibango' (of 'Soul Makosa' fame) is from Cameroon.
There is no french Cameroon nor english Cameroon. Never forget the '' divide to rule'' method, it is a pity we as Cameroonians haven't understood that yet. :(
I so like this video about my country bro... This is indeed a wonderful job. And you also spoke very well too about our Selfish president. Thanks for the video.. I wish to be getting your updates! Courage
+Sulthan14 Dozens of groups of people of various types of Malayan descent, and minorities of Melanesians and people of mixed Malayan and Germanic descent, all ruled over (to the chagrin of many) by a minority class of Javans.
1:37 Funny thing, actually - I used to be obsessed with dinosaurs when I was younger, so, when I moved on to geography, the "head" of Cameroon reminded me of a _Parasaurolophus_. You know, those duck-billed dinosaurs with the long crests? Just thought I'd put that out there. And I bet somewhere, TheMysteriousMrEnter is crying, "I don't care! I'm not a palaeontologist!"
