Remarks by Weston Pew, founder of Sacred Door Trail
In this weekend event, 2019 Geography of Hope: Redefining Pilgrimage, explore the meaning of pilgrimage within the environmental, political, and cultural contexts of our times. The Saturday event included presentations and conversations with writers, activists, and Native American leaders plus songs, storytelling, history of pilgrimage traditions around the world, and illumination of the ways pilgrimage can be a form of social activism. On Sunday, events included a morning community pilgrimage walk (approximately 1.5 miles) with Kate Bunney and Wendy Johnson and afternoon conversation at Commonweal with Michael Lerner and Mary Evelyn Tucker, author of Thomas Berry: A Biography.
