An explanation of transformations as reflections, rotations, and translations on a coordinate plane. The difference between the Image and the Preimage, how to read and use arrow notation, line of reflection, center of rotation, prime notation and primes, double primes, triple primes, rule for translations, and using that rule to find the vertices of an image.

You're doing a great job in sharing the knowledge you've been blessed with. Thank you! I am studying maths after I got my bachelor's in English linguistics. I feel I am more of a math guy than anything else. Keep up the great work!

I've studied pre-algebra and intermediate algebra. The next step was precalculus and boom there I got surprised 😂 I have to learn geometry and trigonometry first🙊 and here I am 😬 I find both so interesting.

Hi! I love your videos. I've been brushing up on some math skills lately and would love to become a middle school teacherr or a secondary math school teacher. I will need to go into a career switcher program, but before I can even get in, I need to pass a couple of state exams. Several people told me that both the Praxis 5169 and Praxis 5161 exams are extremely difficult and have failed numerous times. Some even said that they utilized ETS resources but, they just weren't enough. Do you know of any good resources that would help me with the concepts that I may need to be familiar with that are found on these types of exams? Thanks!

teev7, I think that is a commendable quest. I know there was a great need for middle school math and science teachers. I am out of the loop as far as current certification requirements. I can't imagine middle school math being difficult because it doesn't go above algebra 1, basic geometry, and basic statistics. Before certification was required, anyone with a college degree was eligible to teach. There were many unprepared teachers, or people teaching that shouldn't have been. In my younger days, I was doing my necessary observation hours and I sadly watched a young man punish two girls for talking when they were only trying to figure out the assignment. He told me that he was teaching to make enough money to finish Law School, and that he hated teaching. If you completed high school math and some college math, you should be okay. You can always watch my playlist as a refresher. I have playlist for 6th, 7th, 8th grade math, and Algebra 1. You can go to ets.org/praxis/prepare/materials and do some practice tests. I took many psychology and teacher education courses to prepare to be a teacher. I wish you luck! Let me know how you do!

JoAnn's School Thank you very much! We really do need great teachers, so it is understandable that the requirements are a lot more rigid. I will most likely teach middle school math.

7:07 why did the first triangle move more to the right then the other triangles?
@JoAnnsSchool
@JoAnnsSchool 4 года назад
It was just an example of how to label the vertices. It can happen if the equation says it moves horizontally to the right 2 units, then moves 1 unit to the right three more times. It depends on the equation. An object can move any number of units across the grid.

I have a plan to immigrate into the USA from South Asia. They didn't teach us like this in school. Even though English is my third language, I can understand your class very well. I can understand all terms in English through you. In Asia, everything have a different name. THANK YOU SO MUCH. Can you suggest me an American highschool Geometry Book? please

Thank you, however counterclockwise rotation is positive and clockwise rotation is negative. So your rectangle is rotated 90 degrees or (-270) degrees.

WOW YOUR BOARD IS BIGGER THAN OUR IN SCHOOL.... LOL
@JoAnnsSchool
@JoAnnsSchool 5 лет назад
I have two boards directly next to each other. One is 8 ft wide, the other is 6 ft wide. At the end of the videos, I usually only show what's on the 8 ft board. Back in 2015, for my earlier videos, I was working with a board that was only 4 feet wide. As my channel grew, I earned money to be able to buy better supplies like the newer big boards. :-)
