Yes this performance is Funk in its purest form! Off tune and all it's how you feel....when you are at an Parliament Funkadelic show they sing with feeling ... and so do we!! Think of all the shows they travel to perform over the year!!! KUDOS to them!!
Amazing how the children sound so much like their parents. I am assuming one the guitarists is Garry Shider's son. I went a PFunk concert at the now- defunct House Of Blues in Hollywood, in 1996 Phillpe Wynne's son was the guest vocalist that night. "It was a hit, Bub"....
Yes, Garrett Shider, amazing guitarist and great philosophy. Got some great new albums out. The frequent drummer Benzel is trumpeter Benny Cowan's son. I believe the singer Trey is George's son. Truly a family affair. I've been seeing them as often as I can since the early 90's and while of course things change and time marches forward, I still have the best time and they can fully deliver 100%!
+KRUSHGROOVE OG Coming up on the 21st. Please post let us know about the show ! Here is the upcoming schedule www.songkick.com/artists/350400-george-clinton
Guy "Downtown" Curtis in green shirt and straw hat plays guitar. See his excellent performance here- "Rufus Roundtree @ Honfest 2018- I'd Rather be with you". I met him after this show and told him I filmed the George Clinton at Artscape show. Then he said- "I'm in that video" Pretty cool
+parfunk1975 Nice I was wondering how he would perform at this age. I'm going to go see them in Leesburg VA in Nov. I just wished Glen Goins was still around. I would had also had been great to see Bernie Worrel and Bootsy perform with them as well.
Wow thanks for sharing this picture perfect video of George and the PFunk gang.......as always a great concert he gives and with a refreshing new refreshing band members......with new music and a way of playing the songs..... I like this playlist......was hoping to hear one of my favs.... Cosmic Slop but they hit a piece of at the end of the part 2 vid....... thanks again......James Lamb!
Gucci Paris I thank you for watching & listening to the Funk ! He sure does still have it ! This was a tight show and the sound was mixed perfectly. It was so loud any "Shakiness" was do to the sound vibrating the tripod.so I did not fix it.
Gorge Clinton I think I got the funky station in the world because I got Parliament. Tell Bootie every thing is on the one.I could not make it this time.I will keep the practicing Mabel il9 get good.
What does that mean when you say you shot right next to the engineers? Did they allow you to plug in to there soundboard for audio or something? just asking because I am looking for a video camera that is good for recording events like this not making a smart comment or anything just asking.
Chillin26111 The guy right behind me had a set up with two large microphones on a about 7 foot high stand. The sound came from my camera. This video describes it pretty well.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ckQ19J4NWcw.html
Chillin26111 Thank you sir ! Shot right next to sound engineers mike setup with Sony NEX-VG30H, Quad Capsule Spatial Array Microphone, that comes with the camera.
@@jlambc12 not to worry, I liked it very much. I've been on P!Funk since the 70s and a founding member has become a good friend FUNK IS ITS OWN REWARD 🤘🏿 thx 4 your good work 💜🤘🏿
@@FunkATeer-qk7hq Thanks! I saw them once before and thought that I would film them if I ever got the chance. When I heard they were going to be at Artscape here in Baltimore, I new right where I would set up to get the show. I ordered my new camera and spent two days learning all the buttons and how to use it .Really one of my favorite things I ever did. I got this camera because of the excellent microphone. So cool when George pointed right at me and gave me the finger, smiling when he did it. Then he was directing me on what to do like waving me in to get close up of Blackbird just before one of his guitar solos started. Lon live George Clinton !!!
@@jlambc12 sounds like real dedication 🤘🏿 These guys are sooo cool. I even had the honour and the privilege to get to know Garry STARCHILD Shider 🎸 WE WANT THE FUNK AND WE WANT IT 🤘🏿
+Basheer Muhammad Yes Bleetingham, this P Funk. But it's always been about having a competent guitar army. Different styles of soloing, different tones and different rhythms and more than one or two guitar parts a song. So no, Blackbird isn't enough. In Mothership Connection alone, there are at least two guitar parts missing. He can't do them all.lol
I would think George is avoiding some of the same mistakes he made back int he 70s, ie. touring with an absolute army of a band and then not being able to pay everyone properly
I think during that time, some people did not care about getting paid. They wanted to be on the track. ie One Nation, and Freak of the Week... That same ole beat up and down, it just won't do.
George will always give a great show but I would like to say rest in peace to all the band members of the original Parliament Funkadelic you are truly missed and still loved
I hate to say this, maybe it's the mix. George sounds compromised. Too many people on stage who can't hold a tune... Some of the singers, can not sing, or they are off key.
