George was a damn good friend to have and I only wish I was able to have been one. I can claim to be a devoted fan for my entire life after seeing him on The Ed Sullivan Show In 1964. I love you George.
George Harrison was always my favourite beatle since around 1966, he made some real good songs in his lifetime and they will live on forever as will my memories of him and the rest of the band ❤👍RIP Boss
If not for you Babe, I couldn't even find the door I couldn't even see the floor I'd be sad and blue, if not for you If not for you Babe, the night would see me wide awake The day would surely have to break It would not be new, if not for you If not for you, my sky would fall Rain would gather, too Without your love I'd be nowhere at all I'd be lost, if not for you If not for you The winter would hold no spring Couldn't hear a robin sing I just wouldn't have a clue, if not for you If not for you, my sky would fall Rain would gather, too Without your love I'd be nowhere at all I'd be lost, if not for you If not for you The winter would hold no spring Couldn't hear a robin sing I just wouldn't have a clue, if not for you If not for you
Seeing George support his friend who wrote this song, while he sings it, for some reason makes me cry. The strength, the lack of ego. Bob was not so sure of himself that day. Bob: even his simpler songs have heart and soul, and melodies that stick. George: knew how to be a friend. Great vocal.
As a kid, like most,,Paul was my favorite beatle..They were a few years before my time. I was born in 68,,,but still very much popular when I got older,,.after they separated, HANDS down, George trounced all of them,,,and that's saying something...funny thing, the Band didn't realize what they had with George..
What's with the multiple punctuation marks and why do you say "the band didn't realise what they had with George" ? Bit of a sweeping statement and a pretty silly one in most people's opinions I would imagine!
@@Jo-we9ht Paul and John didn't want George's songs on the Beatles albums. George said he had to push and push just to get one song included because John and Paul would say it wasn't good enough or it wasn't what the album needed, etc. So, yes, John and Paul did not know the extent of George's songwriting talent. George said sometimes he would say he had written a new song and John and Paul didn't even want to hear it. Luckily, George kept at his songwriting and after the Beatles broke up, he had more than enough for his first solo album "All Things Must Pass".
I’ve never heard George Harrison sing this song. Indisputable proof that I’ve been living under a rock forever! Love this wonderful man and his magic music.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
My thought is the "you" is a reference to God. I can tell why we have Spring and Fall, as well as having Summer and Winter. But it is from God, which is why there is faith.
I saw a newspaper cartoon after TP passed, & it showed Tom walking 2 the pearly gates and sees his buddy's waiting for him George & Roy Orbison wearing shades, & Tom Petty said, I can't believe I beat Bob here , was probably thinking the Wilburys, anyhow miss them all .✌❤👍😎
Although far beyond my ability its a quite simple arrangement but executed so so well by special people well done I’m 74 going on 75 not to old but also not to well just now thank you 🙏especially RU-vid Mike Sol’s
George Harrison, what can I say only that he is Truely missed as a person that was good when walking on this earth now he may be walking upon the clouds. Wonderful song. His songs will never die... Biggest fan
amazingly its hard to say. Ringo the least, but in fact the guy was a great drummer for the band. If Moon drummed for the Beatles the songs would possibly have sufferred.
Bob Dylan wrote “If Not For You” in 1970 - George sings it perfectly with Dylan on guitar & harmonica. It’s a tribute to the respect Dylan had for George!
Bob Dylan wrote “If Not for You” in 1970. George sings it perfectly here m. Fact that Dylan accompanied on guitar and harmonica show the respect Dylan had for George! I love this version!

Love George my second favourite Beatle after John but this track is certainly up there with the best of them. Written by Dylan but George has made it his own and one I play often. Great La!!!
I miss George too. What a lyrical, instinctive, creative soul! Plus -- he even had the good sense to have a vacation pad in Maui near Hana. Bless his memory! * Cav *
You see 2/5 of the Travelin' Wilburys coming together here. LOVE IT!! The song must be quite new for George, as he is reading the music or lyrics or both.
