Are you criticizing Tinygrad? Or the fact that it’s called a framework? Either way, could you explain a bit more? As a fan of the project, I’m interested to learn about criticism.
@@BenGras When bold claims are made and people are captivated by them, it's important that the subsequent actions align with those declarations. I would suggest taking a closer look at the recent changes and commits-do they truly reflect the direction that was initially promised?
edit the 34:37 segment into 2 sections so it separates the 00:38:52 timestamp with the news commentary on nvidia open sourcing their drivers as its own thing cause a lot of people will be watching for that
Ran across this video while procrastinating after running into a rather frustrating problem while I was working on something. While you obviously did not provide the solution to my particular problem, watching your video lit a spark of inspiration that drove me to go back and continue working on it. For this, I thank you. Subscribed.
Tinygrad moving in an organically OS-grown direction is what we're here for. New docs are useful af and stream updates are always nice. we in it long-term.
Congrats on not letting the library bloat out, that is very hard to do. This project will pair nicely with Mojo in the future to enable decentralized AI on the edge.
Really enjoyed the stream! Looks to me like George is back to a higher level of energy than in the streams a few month ago. Would love to see him come online more often agin.
Let MCTS optimization run on 1T Transformer model for a long enough and then train optimized kernels on 100k B200's for 75 days, (if 15T tokens then 10x epochs )
I know nothing about coding or anything of that. I just like watching this for the typing sounds and the cool colors on the screen. Why is the thing called tinygrad? Like why that name? Tiny graduate?
Oooohhhhh shit geohotz is back.... maybe he done lots of drugs lol.....just kidding.... I'm currently watching micrograd programing with andrej karpathy by coincidence
Anybody who watched the whole thing know of he mentioned the nvidia open sourcing drivers news and whether thats big for the tinybox? i know a big part of his beef with amd was crappy open source drivers so first thing i thought when i saw the news was it might be relevant to this
He's making GPUs do what they were built for, bypassing all the dysfunctional abstractions and buggy driver/runtime implementations their manufacturers throw at you.
Lately the streams have become stale, lacking entertainment and Geohot's persona vanished. Can we get the controversial topics back on stream? Similar to topics that have been previously addressed in length or brief: are you the problem, creating alternative services from the mainstream and goverment, certain popular figures that went mad (similar to Ted, Jeffrey, Timothy) My suggestion would be in response to "capitalism good, commie bad", this video, even watching it for a couple of minutes and/or giving an opinion on it would suffice: All of your problems have something in common by horses. So Mr. Hotz, are you (part of) the problem?
