Thanks to folks like geohot for investing their valuable time into fixing AMD. Without folks like this we'd continue to blissfully trod along wondering, "why doesn't Nvidia have competitors in AI/ML? oh well.", which eventually becomes "where can I buy an Nvidia 6060 tier card for less than $999? 🤬"

Reuploading videos from Twitch to RU-vid is like AMD vs NVidia. Yes, there are great features in "Green", but I don't need most of them. Instead I want freedom of choice. Yes, both platforms may treat users as moneybags, I don't care. But I'm just not interested in streamsniping, chatting, raids, real-real-time and other exciting garbage. So let's support alternatives, otherwise tomorrow there will be 0 consumer computational GPUs (like 7900 xtx), because in the absence of competition all that we will see is MI200 and GH200 in clouds for $99.99 per hour

No offense, but you can do better than putting video game cards in a box. How does nobody have an ML ASIC for sale yet? What would this cost? Can we develop it on RISC-V or something? I don't know chip design, but since we are going to have public models they can be quantized and fine tuned with LoRA? Would there by any point in making a chip for this purpose? You're tiny, right. Quantized models are tiny. LoRA is a tiny amount of fine tuning for a lot. RISC-V computers are tiny. All things for robotics. Let's maybe stay in the robot vertical? Though I don't really know what I'm talking about. I know RISC-V is very undeveloped but the M3 ARM chips can do model inference.

The real reason they don't want to help you unfortunately is that they don't want the consumer GPU product line to threaten their MI300 revenue streams. This is a business strategy, not a technical problem.
