George was there at Hume High school in the same class as Elvis when Elvis sang to the class.... one of his first closest life long friends. Scotty and Bill created the sound that gave Elvis's genius voice the edge that made the difference in the sound then. It was Scotty's persistence that gave Elvis the chance to audition for Sam at Sun when Sam asked him how the session at Scotty's home went with Elvis.

And should be respected for her self and . That's jer rights so who don't appreciate her ! Don't watch and we who love Elvis don't worry about them who have no respect! They left out an very important fact about the Ali fighting Robe, is that Sonny West was in charge of getting that original robe made for Ali by Elvis, and also the writing on the back says "PEOPLE CHOICE" Was done in error. Sonny West accidentally told the maker the wrong phrase to be on the back which was" PEOPLE'S CHAMPION". BUT when Sonny went to get Ali at his Hotel before the fight to present Ali with the Robe, they got there unveiled it Ali trying it on and Noticed it in the mirror. Sonny apologized to Ali and Ali said what a minute. The Peoples Choice? Hmmm!! I like it , and Ali wore it to that fight, Ali asked Elvis if it was ok if sonny could be his 2second a inside joke, and Elvis a allowed sonny to attend that fight. Cool story!!

Also Ali lost that fight and never wore the robe again.

Scotty did not play on a Japanese guitar. Scotty played on a Telecaster as he mentioned it in his book. He didn't like how it felt in his gands and once he saw the Gibson Es-295 he had to have it. So he made payments on it. Then he used it on the sun records till he saw the Gibson L5. Which he took his 295 to use as trade in value to the get L5 and make payments on it as well. He used the L5 on the last songs recorded at sun one of them Mystery Train.

When he traded for the L5, he also picked up the Echosonic amplifier he ordered several months earlier. Scotty used his new guitar and amp on the last Sun session (Mystery Train, Trying To Get To You, I Forgot To Remember To Forget, and an incomplete version of When It Rains It Really Pours)

It's so strange how that considering Elvis supposedly always carried his guitar with him that no photos of him with it have surfaced.

I am a big Elvis fan, but it's sad that everyone seems to forget that Bill Haley was really the first to create the rock and roll sound. Then Elvis came along and was more popular with the younger audiences and was much more successful. Please don't forget Bill Haley.

There's a lot of crap here in this interview. Klein loved to tell whopper fish stories as he got older and his memory turned to Memphis mush.

I don't think there is any proof that that is Elvis' first guitar......there is some holes in the story. The story goes is that his first guitar was a Gene autry model guitar. And Elvis had said that when he went to get a better guitar later, he traded his first one in....and he said the the guy just threw it away since it was junk. Since he traded it away when he was an unknown, there would be no reason for anyone to save it. Not sure why this particular guitar is taped up and it such bad shape. who treats guitars like this?
@fc7424

Elvis also said in his early days he was in at a club when a fight broke out and someone durring the fight stood on his guitar putting their foot through it. This could have possibly been his first guitar also.

@@fc7424 That's what I was thinking. If it was Elvis guitar that would be the one.

Your facts aren't quite right. For one, as I said this is the first time I have heard of the scissors being used by the bullies and the story has seemed to have grown a lot over time. I can guarantee you that I have seen more than one documentary. Yes two maybe three of the Memphis Mafia are school friends, George and Red being the main and Lamar Fike joined around 1957 and Joe Esposito came in the army. They were the beginning of the group. Yes Elvis liked his drugs but if they really wanted to help him there is a thing called an intervention and if you had his daddy and Colonel on board Elvis would have listened. The reason Red was fired was not because he pushed Elvis to stop the pills it was because he and his cousin Sonny were thugs. They started getting heavy handed with the fans and others and were creating lots of lawsuits for Elvis to settle. They began costing him lots of money and were becoming unprofessional in their work. They wrote the book for revenge and to make some money, they certainly don't believe in loyalty. Elvis paid their wages for years, bought them houses, cars, furniture, jewelry, anything they needed or wanted. He even got them big boys toys so they could play. The reason they didn't push to hard was because they didn't want to stop the gravy train. Elvis also got them work in all his movies and they learnt many new trades because of Elvis. Those are the facts as listed in many books, articles and interviews

Hi! I dont think that an Intervention worked out well for Elvis! You cant Force a 40 year old man to anything...especially Not When this man was Elvis. Elvis was intelligent and Not a fool. He didnt want to stop abuse prescribed drugs. Elvis was amazingly strong and well known read if he wanted to quit taking drugs he maybe would live today. Elvis did Not only abuse drugs, in large parts he needed them. His bad insomnia causes so many troubles... Its difficult to take the right amount of drugs every day Even too if they were prescribed. I dont believe that someone of his Entourage made something wrong. Most People in the World like Elvis. The men who knew him in Person must love or loved him. No way only one was abel to dislike him.
