Anyone who really puts their mind to it will be able to do incredible things musically. Most of us just look at one of these musicians and think, "wow, we could never do this!" failing to realize that they started off flubbing through the basics like anyone does. It just takes a lot of time and dedication to get this good.
@Naaga88 He was a jazz drummer before i heard. There are videos of him playing some type of brazilian zumba, so yeah there are shitloads of other stuff that george can play.
@bluntedatbirth1 I'm sure those are the people who believe that George is all about blastbeats and double bass... but there are shitloads of other stuff that he can do...
It does not make you go faster in any way. Speed is only in your ankles. Swiveling helps you keep balance and maintain speed in high tempos. i use this technique myself too.
It's called the swivel technique, you can find a lot of explanations, tips and lessons on You Tube. I suppose he uses it to maintain balance while playing fast.
To where 'actual' damage is down to your knees that would be thousands of hours of playing in a short amount of time, like maybe 4-7 months. For example: It's similar to overdosing on weed, it's definitely possible in theory, but not possible in practice.
nah... i think it's more for releaving the strain off of the Tibia (the bone under the knee) it hurts me too at certain speeds and when i throw in a swivel the pain litterally dissappears
true. he did. but what's wit the hating? he is a monster at blast beats and in extreme metal cause that's what he likes to do. their is a video about a review of a new DW kit that shows D. Roddy and T. Pridgen and Pridgen plays blast beast like shit. each drummer practises on what he likes the most.
