At the 2023 Concordia Annual Summit in New York City, George Logothetis, the Executive Chairman of Libra Group and Co-Chair of Concordia’s Leadership Council, delivered an insightful and inspiring keynote speech titled, "Protecting and Defending Democratic Values.” In his address, George sheds light on the enduring, and sometimes invisible, residual impacts of the pandemic, including the loss of hope. He noted that Concordia is a powerful vaccine against such forces - a place where presidents and prime ministers, business and non-profit leaders, as well as students and scholars, gather in person to collectively cultivate inspiration and opportunity. He reminds all that Concordia was founded “draped in democratic ideals,” and that "democracy itself was granted to us by those who came before, not earned by us.”
George also reminded the audience that Concordia “is about what you can become - not what you were, not what you are, but what you can be.” He ended by sharing a poignant and powerful anecdote from one of his many enlightening conversations with the late Senator John McCain about how the Senator overcame his pain.
