I remember when this first came on HBO and my dad was like, "We have to watch this." He's white but adopted by a white woman and a Spaniard. He knew a lot of Spanish from growing up with him and was hell-bent that we watch this together. So glad we did, because it was a little like hearing George Carlin for the first time. It was an insight into a world I'd not experienced growing up a middle-class white kid. A lot of this comedy was not only funny but politically informative like Carlin's was. No wonder George Lopez was on top of his game after this special came out.

@@laurarivera8136I believe the artist is Vincente Fernandez, but I still have found the name of the track anywhere on the interwebs in connection to this performance. I started to search through his V Fernandez songs on iTunes but he was apparently VERY prolific, and I haven’t found it yet. Probably best to find someone who is way into his music and play a sample for them to figure out what song it is. Or maybe I need to find his fan page somewheres and everyone but me will know what song it is.
