I've been fortunate too have seen George many times from 1983 up to this year. The guy has never failed too deliver Explosive and High Energy guitar riffage. A living Legend who inspired 10's of thousand of aspiring musicians around the World.
About 10 years ago he was a sour puss. He was not happy and he wasn't playing out that much and he wasn't killing old Dokken tunes. He got back into it when people like Jeff Blando started paying attention to him and giving him some stage time. He's out of place without the right band around him. He's in his element shredding all the old Dokken songs it brought him back to life. Probably saved his life he didn't look good.
George sounds like his amp is ready to blow up! I freaking love it! Nasty Fuzzy tone! What I love about George is that he is constantly evolving with his tone.
Agreed, I don't know if it's the device used to record this, or if they need a new man on the sound board, because they really f'd a great performance here... George is the most underrated guitar player, he is right up there w EVH, Beck, Page, George is right up there with them 🤘😎🎸
George still kicking ass. Terry is the perfect vocalist to do the Dokken stuff (Don produced the first XYZ album). I would imagine the vocals sounded louder at the show.
For me this cat, Oni, and Dino are the best interpreters of George's music. And George is still stunning, always bang on time, super focused and living the moment. One of the absolute best rock guitarists ever
my brothers birthday in Chesterfield MI? What are the odds? We love George Lynch. Huge Lynch Mob fans from Michigan. Chesterfield is part of our stompin grounds! Maybe my favorite guitarist from that time period. Rock On!
You can clearly see the respect between all these guys. In my opinion this is one of the best things that happened to rock scene lately; having all these guys together playing cult songs. Amazing performance, amazing musicians, amazing people. Respect.
"Twice Lynch auditioned for the position of Ozzy Osbourne's lead guitarist - once in 1979, losing to Randy Rhoads. Lynch said, "I won the consolation prize. Randy got to tour with Ozzy...and I got to teach at his mom's school." He auditioned again in 1982 to replace Brad Gillis. According to Lynch, he was hired for three days before Osbourne changed his mind and decided to go with Jake E. Lee. Lee noted that Lynch "got the gig, but only went on the road for two weeks to watch the show and never actually played with Ozzy." Lynch stated in an interview that he played soundchecks at the side of the stage on a European tour with Osbourne and Brad Gillis as part of an extensive audition. He also rehearsed with the band in Texas, but was let go by Osbourne as the band moved operations to Los Angeles. Jake E. Lee auditioned on the day of Lynch's dismissal, and while Lee admittedly didn't play well the day of the audition, he looked the part and was offered the gig. Osbourne fired Lynch on the spot in front of Lee, whom Lynch had just met. Lynch was devastated and was struggling financially in those years. He had been working as a delivery man for a liquor store and was required by his employer to have short hair. Sharon Osbourne fancied Lee's "look" over Lynch's playing, and her influence likely finalized Osbourne's decision to hire Lee"
Cool, story! Guess it worked out well for both Lynch and Lee, but I would of chose Lynch. I can understand Sharon's reasoning though, as far as the hair and looks being the determining factor on hiring Lee. The 80s Metal Scene was definitely focused on having the right look. That being said, I absolutely can't stand Sharon Osbourne.
And now Grorge Lynch is a established world guitar star, and Jake E Lee is just one of Osbourne's guitarists. And nothing more. Thanks god Lynch was fired back than and met Don Dokken. They did a huge part of 80's hard rock scene.
@@jerrythomas4457 I actually took a couple of lessons from George at a small record store. The first time I met Dave was upstairs at the starwood. Motely cru's first show
The video is awesome I wish one of those wedges was turned a little more toward the camera. The vocals sound like they were really good. I just can’t hear when the P.A. Is behind you or beside you
My first concert was Dokken opening for Sammy Hagar in Terre Haute at Hulman center, around 1987. Dokken definitely delivered on Tooth and Nail tour and still love Sammy.
1987 was not the tooth and nail tour, Tooth and Nail was released in 1984 and Sammy was playing with Van Halen in 87. This must have been in 1984/85. Or it was during Sammy’s 87 solo release and Dokkens last tour dates of the Under lock and key tour.
@@_vixen_4504 it was March 27th 1985. Sammy was on the VOA tour, and Dokken was still doing Tooth and Nail material because Under Lock and Key wasn’t released until November 1985. So I was a little off on the year. It was a long time ago.
It’s a tour package called Rise of the Decades featuring All or Nothing, Terry Ilous’ XYZ, and Lynch Mob! After Lynch Mob does their regular set the boys from AON come out and jam some Dokken with George and then Terry from XYZ will come out and sing some as well. 🤘🏼
@@jordansrockvault I saw the Rise of the Decades tour last month, you want to get your socks rocked off?? They go thru a Lynch Mob set then come back out and do a full set of Dokken tunes. and AON does their set at the beginning, it's about a 4 hour show.
Wish #1…Don could still sing Wish #2…those guys would get along. Not getting any younger…all of us. Foreigner is shot after Mick Jones retires. Grab Jeff & rip a few out for the fans. No more Mr. Brown. Can’t be the same. But that’s what we’d wish for.
Title says WITH Terry Ilous and AON. Both are featured in the video. Young guys are part of a band called All Or Nothing (AON) and their frontman Brett Carlisle is also the frontman for Great White. Hope that helps.
The sound always sucks! Why not do what other bands do and record directly to the equipment and add the sound of fans so the recording is clear. I would love to hear a live Dokken album where I can actually hear it
Kinda sucks to hear George and Jeff trashing Don. Don is saying some shit that's pissing all of them off and I tend to side with Jeff and George. I've met Jeff and been to his house he's a cool dude and a real pro. He and george we'e the musical heartbeat of that band. We all know Dokken isn't shit without George and Jeff. I wish they could all just bury the hatchet. I guess there's a fair amount of money involved because of publishing rights and the contracts running out. LA always fucks up the best bands.
I agree that hearing Don getting trashed by George sucks (and is nothing new - hes done it since the 1980s), but saying Dokken ain't shit w/o George is not only wrong but childish. You need to actually listen to it, as Norum and Levin killed it w/Dokken. I'm not a Reb fan (WAY too much tapping), but John and Jon's material slays..
agreed!! I was wondering why i don't see him playing on those big stages like Metallica. Everytime i see him play, I would have the same question again and again
