I'm 98 years young I put on my platform shoes, Bellbottom pants and sailor tee shirt. Go down to the disco and give it heaps. The years fall away. I'm transported back to the 70s 80s. Wow.
This beautiful Song reminds my marriage in 1974 with a beautiful girl 46 years ago. My wife passed away in 2013 I never forget those years,we both love dancing every weekend out at the night club. Still living at 66 years old I am not dead yet(Lol) still in love with her beyond this world and for ever. God bless you all.
Steve I so totally agree and sympathize with you!!! My husband and I were married in 1970 and this song was one of my favorites, but he too passed on in 2013. I love all those 70's songs they remind remind me of the good times!!!
Im ALWAYS thinking that too..1965-85 (for me) but 1970's were sooooo good. I need to come here to escape the world today, thank you all who contributed to this era of great music peace to all !
What a wonderful memory; my son was born in 1974, and two lady attendants sang this song during my long hours of labor; it's a great song too, distracted me from my panic, and I thought they were so cool!
Aside from the oil embargo and the scandal of Nixons resignation and violent American intervention in Latin America and the skyrocketing rates of gang violence and murder in the streets of every major city in the country buttt that’s what discos for:))
Woman, take me in your arms and Rock Me Baby! How many times have I danced to that song, I have no idea...it was alot. If you got to grow up in the 50's through the 80's with all the golden classic movies and music, YOU were blessed!
This song is an evergreen classic. I was 14 when it was released. I will listen and boggie to it till I die. We don't have them like this anymore...good old days.
Here to us who lived to appreciate and love the mid 70s. Music is like a time machine. As a miler on the track team we would start practice during last period and suffered running repeat quarter milers until we heard the bell ring. The girls came out and watched us and suddenly i was steady running 62 sec laps. As soon as they left we were hitting 80 sec laps. Rock Your Baby was our running song. Just a memory.
From a time when musicians were at the top of their game, their lyrics, their style, especially the soul musicians. Growing up in Queens NY were some of the best times of my life
they return every time we play the songs again. Today's music is just as great to me but I love this stuff from my teenage years coz of all those hormones doing their thing
the 70s were amazing but we also have very poetic music now as well. suggest giving some artists like lana del rey, lorde, or taylor swift a listen! :)
This takes me back to 74 in South Florida. It seemed everyone loved each other. No racism no hate just dancing laughing and having a good time. Anybody feel me?
There was definelty a movement going on at the time. Older people are lucky to have lived without all the little rules and intricacies of life today. Not to mention the price of living now in comparison. I'd take that care free lifestyle over my smartphone any day
I was six but remember this song so well, and the way my mother used to play it on the turn table over and over who could forget such a beautiful song, till this day it's still one of my favorites songs back in the day
Still gives me goosebumps all over after 40 years.I was sixteen but always looked older and more mature,, so the girls used to tell me,,, I just loved it.
Timeless!!! I'll be listening to this song for the rest of my life and it will continue to mesmerise me just as it did when I heard it for the first time back in 1974, when I was 15.
I saw George live back in 74 I was still in married going out with my soon to be wife I am older than you Steve though you married 3 years before me my dad at the time George McRae came to Capetown picked him up at the airport
En esa época tenía 14 años y la recuerdo mucho 💞 eso sí era música y siempre quedará para el recuerdo los que nos gusta está canciones de los años 74,75,76,77,78 79. Bella melodía .
One of the sexiest songs ever recorded and no one on soul train is slow dancing in each others' arms. We teenagers of the 70s didn't have a clue how magical our music was until the shitty 90s came along. 70s was the best musical decade EVER.
I just heard this background music on a news channel where I live and it just triggered me singing the song and I had to look it up on RU-vid it’s so funny how you hear something that you haven’t heard in probably 40 years that you know the words to the song but I can’t remember what I ate yesterday
Me too!!! I will never forget this track. I want it played when I'm finally gone. Perhaps people will understand me finally, and get to know what real transcending soul music is and can mean. Love it through and through. ❤
I never knew there was a video for this! My mum had the album, I grew up listening to/singing along with this song ❤ I even found a 2ndhand copy of the album to buy. When mum died we split her record collection between we 3 kids- I asked for this one as her copy meant more than just owning "a copy". Still love it, and love you too mum.
40 years ago this song was playing at the CNE Exhibition. Met my wife and even through the ups and downs we're still here. God Bless her. Great song. 🎵 Great memories.
I'm 68 and I learned to do "The Bump" to this...dang it was a sexy dance...and I LOVED SOUL TRAIN even though I was a white hippie...music has no color barrier lol!!!
Child from 70s here. Always loved the music my parents played. So much freedom and a carefree life. This song reminds me of the simple things we take for granted, they're never that far away if we can just stop, slow down
I'm a heavy metal dude and I like this, beautiful! this dude can sing, puts me back to the 70's when I would hear it on the radio, after this I'm going to crank up an 8 hour Anthrax marathon!
I wish there was a time machine my time machine is at my apartment listening to my music I LOVE MY OLDIES in a 63 babe I just turned 60 Sept 2023 thank you God
