One of the best duets ever. I was a metal head back when George Michael became popular, and I didn't appreciate his talent until later in life. I definitely appreciated and liked Elton from when I was small kid.

Actually, I must correct you. George Michael has been rocking the hoop earrings since 1984! And while he was in his group Wham! ,he made it famous to wear a hoop earring in each ear. You can see it in his video for Careless Whisper. :)

So much talent on one stage. Elton John is a legend, and one of the most talented performers spanning multiple generations. I'm so glad he is still with us. George Michael had a voice like an angel. Gone way too soon. He lives on through his music. R.I.P. George Michael.

Elton wrote and put this song on album in the 1970’s. George did a remake. This was the last show in George’s tour and he invited Elton that night as a surprise. Elton had been out of rehab for a few weeks! 2 British legends! Missed any comments from u on song.

I respect you both regardless whether we share the same likes or dislikes for whatever the reason. My mother taught me growing up we all have our own brain, we all have our own likes and dislikes and that’s good. She would say can you imagine how boring life would be if we only had the same thing to eat everyday, if everyone looked the same, if every tree was the same tree, every car the same car and so on. Appreciate the fact your different and the people on the planet are different. Don’t cause pain to another living being and don’t cause pain to yourself. That’s how my mother raised me.

George has an incredible catalog I agree. People in the states usually just know him for Careless Whisper and Faith. The man was an epic lyricist and vocalist. The UK and the rest of the world got the benefit of listening to all of his output. He’s one of the best selling artist of all time. Just the duets alone he did were astonishing. But the music he released after Faith is the absolute best.

This isn't the first time the two of them performed this very song together. That happened during the 1985 Live Aid concert (Yes, that same Live Aid where Queen did their legendary performance.) George back then was one half of a band called WHAM! Elton introduced George as the next big star “Ladies and Gentlemen, MISTER George Michael!” and almost as an afterthought went “Err...and mister Andrew Ridgelley!” when he was reminded that both members of WHAM! were going to perform the song together with him. Andrew later said that he KNEW this was the end of WHAM!, George would indeed reveal himself as the new superstar, and he wouldn't be playing any role in that. But, to Ridgelley's credit, he wasn't bitter about it, he and George remained lifelong friends, and he always went “Well done dude, you showed them!”
