What I never understood is why he seemed to think that 40 years old was old - here is only 43 and he's talking about liking where he lives because he can still move around easily. I heard him in a number of interviews talk about being 40 or 43 years old as though he was in his 60s. Which of course, may have been some terrible internal feeling about his mortality, who knows. But early to mid 40s is considered still relatively young. My heart breaks thinking of him dying alone on Christmas Day - it sometimes hits me when I'm listening to his music and I just cry.
