And since the majority of people, the common people, seem to be unable to motivate and control our governments (as it seems our governments are actually in the service of an oligarchic ownership class), then perhaps we need to figure out how we can manage to get what needs doing done without the cooperation of the government. That is, because our current "administration" seems to be hostile, it seems we either need to be able to change the nature of our administrators (in a profoundly effective, one might even say, revolutionary, way), or, and until such might prove possible, set up alternative organizational structures capable of addressing the public needs. This isn't surprising, though. She made a 180 degree turn in politics from her family when she went to work for Shell in 1996 (too many fumes, perhaps) but he (the father) is pretty progressive. Liz refers to him as "to the left of Labour". Not a good time for this planet to have her in that position..
