George Saitoti's death - a mystery ten years on 

Few days after this tragedy, being a Standard 7 in Primary School, I wrote a composition titled 'The Fatal Crash' capturing it aptly. I scored 39/40 and it became the talk of school. It dawned on me that I could write - I still do, at law school, today.

Rest in peace to my Uncle Murimi - body guard to Saitoti who literally protected this man till his very death. We will always remember.

Kimunya knows something. His body language and attitude towards the matter in light of the many unanswered questions rings alarm bells to me

In his last speech in Mombasa he repeated the same phrase, "Comes a time when the interest of the Nation is bigger than an individual ". RIP Saitoti,they can suppress justice here on earth but not hereafter.

I still mourn him to date,met him in South b Nairobi while I was taking my son to school,he greeted us and touched my son's head,blessed him oh my goodness,I wish he was alive for my son to carry him in a plane,keep resting Sir🙏 you had a great ❤️

These are the mysteries that get figured out 70 years later when the culprits are dead or old and dying

In Professor Saitoti we lost a great man, and a great leader. With his death the country also lost 10 years.

I lived in Gikambura back then. I was in church that morning. I refused to believe the bad weather theory because from Gikambura one can see the entire Kibiku, Ngong hills area. While there was no sun, there was no mist, no fog, nothing. I concluded then that it was a murder even though I had no other facts, apart from the weather. I will remember this for many years

This guy used to wear a bullet proof vest everytime but was still assassinated and when his family really pushed to know what happened, they tapped on George saitoti son's story that he was not theirs, just so that they can silence saitoti's wife and for that story to end, saitoti's wife had to comply and count her loses NB I still think that son was not saitoti's, the gvt knew their weakness and exploited it

The innocent were trapped inside a maze not knowing they were dying breed marked for death such a dirty game. Their every move was a calculated step to bring them closer to an early death, now there's nothing left. There was no mercy with the Government. We suffered through the years, & shed so many tears. The death Prof. George Saitoti is the only death of a politician I've genuinely felt. We leave it to the hands of God! May their killers along with their families never find peace

It's ironic that a security minister would die in such a manner. The government put up a show for Kenyans, taken in circles and made to forget. Quite unfortunate.

Until we have an independent body to conduct such cases in Kenya, political assassinations will never get solved. But this was no accident, no matter what the government may want you to think. I mean how does the government investigates itself? And the endless commissions formed in cases where there's a national disaster, I mean, they achieve nothing and most of those reports never see the light of day, and those that do, no sane Kenyan will accept them as the gospel. RIP Saitoti we'll always remember you.

The problem with Kenya they do not get independent investigators like the UK or USA to diagnose the cause of the crush its always left to Kenyan govt investigators and depending what the govt wants to perceive the cause of the crush was thats what you will get. If it was an accident the govt wants you to believe, thats what the investigators will tell you.
