I listen to this with difficulty. A Jazz Legend working with these dreary arrangements and that insipid chorus is hard to take. This Top 40 playlist is way out his league. No offense Guild Light Music...You are the Best.
In those days, Jazz was dieing and the artists that performed it needed to survive. Sometimes, record labels would drag artists KICKING and SCREAMING into the studio for recordings like this. It was the only way to remain relevant in those days! Jazz is AWESOME and something I have loved since childhood and theses records with there arrangements allowed these artists to live!!
