My kiddos homeschool and won't listen to me about subjects 100%. If they watch your video, they soak it up. Something about george washition :) A session is that George Washington is best known for being the first president of The United States and being one of the founding fathers. While he was alive he was already known as the father of his country and his reputation is well known today as one of the greatest heroes of The United States . WASHINGTONS EARLY LIFE George Washington was born on February 11, 1731. He was the oldest child born to his father, Augustine Washington, and his second wife, Mary Ball Washington however he had older siblings from his father’s first marriage. He was born and raised on Pope’s Creek Estate near Colonial Beach, Westmoreland County, Virginia. Augustine Washington was of English descent with ancestors coming from Sulgrave in England. His grandfather John Washington emigrated to Virginia in 1657. Augustine was a tobacco planter whose plantation was worked by slaves. George Washington was one of seven children from his father’s two marriages. Augustin died when George was only 11 years old and he was brought up by his half-brother, Lawrence Washington. WASHINGTON AND WAR Between the years of 1789 and 1797, George Washington was the Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army. He fought and led forces throughout the American Revolutionary War. It was during this time that he was admired for his leadership talents. As Commander-in-Chief, he was able to force the British army out of Boston in 1776. Other victories Washington enjoyed were the battles of Trenton and Princeton. WASHINGTON AND THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION After the war, George Washington was called on to preside over the United States Constitution. Washington had planned to retire to Virginia and the tobacco plantation after the constitution but other founding fathers who attended the convention had other plans for him. He was voted the first president of the United States in a unanimous victory. Washington served as president from April 30, 1789, up until March 4, 1797. As president, Washington created a strong and well-financed government. This government was able to keep on neutral terms in the French Revolutionary Wars and the government was also able to suppress the Whiskey Revolution. Washington’s success in government won him the heart of all Americans. CONCLUSION George Washington was a man who enjoyed such skill as a leader that helped him win many victories in the American Revolutionary War. His success did not end there as he became one of the founding fathers and further became the first president of the United States. He is considered one of America’s best-loved heroes due to his army and political careers achieving much along the way. George Washington was born on February 22, 1732. He was elected as the first president by the Electoral College unanimously in 1789. Washington is commonly called the "Father of his country" since he played a major role in fighting for independence and helped form the government we now have. Many of his leadership practices became the template for the way politics have proceeded following his terms. For example, his use of a group of counselors known as a "cabinet" is still in practice today. He only served for two terms and then stepped down which became, for the most part, the accepted norm for future presidents. George Washington is associated with some folklore tales such as being widely known for admitting to his father that he chopped Because of these experiences and his successes later on he was appointed as the commander-in-chief of the Continental Army to fight the British in the American Revolution. Washington fought in a few wars and many battles throughout his military career to include the American Revolutionary War and the French-Indian war (or seven years war). Some of his Revolutionary war battles include the siege at Boston, Valley Forge, the Battle of Brandywine, the Surrender at Yorktown, and the Battle of Long Island among others. Washington had a lengthy military career. He demonstrated his military leadership abilities early on during the siege at Boston. At Boston, he blocked land access to the town and limited British supply missions from her naval assets. He then sent a man named Henry Knox to bring heavy artillery that had been captured from the British at Fort Ticonderoga to Boston. In a very difficult mission, Knox maneuvered many of their cannons to the area surrounding Boston in January 1776. In March 1776, these cannons were used to overlook enemies just encase they try to make a battle. George Washington was born into a mildly prosperous Virginia farming family in 1732. After his father died when George was eleven, George's mother, Mary, a tough and driven woman, struggled to hold their home together with the help of her two sons from a previous marriage.

extra fact: George Washington led the British army in 1767 I think and he was 22 against French. He lost. So he retired but when the Declaration of Independence was signed the revolutionary war started and George wanted to be a leader so he joined the us and became a president while John Adams was the first Vice President (Plus he was born Virginia in a farm idk if he told you guys this)
