In this episode we continue the trip from Mestia to Usghuli, a place frozen in time, part of the UNESCO World Heritage. The road is pretty tough, a lot of mud along the way. We arrive in Usghuli late at night to be greeted by an extraordinary family. We dance and sing into the night with our lovely hosts Giorgi, Marushka and Zauri.
We spend the next day sight-seeing and getting one of the bikes fixed. Chance makes it we meet up with another group of Romanians who are also touring Georgia :)
The morning of the second day finds us trying to load the BMW 1200 into a Mitsubishi Delica. That did not work very well, the Delica is not tall enough so we abandoned the idea. To the rescue comes Ari - he was doing a Jeep tour along the same route as us (towards Lentekhi and Kutaisi). He agreed to ride the BMW and trade places with the owner.
So we rode off on the most beautiful and difficult road so far - Usghuli - Lentekhi. 7 hours later, beaten and bruised but with a smile on everybody’s faces we arrive at what seemed like an improvised gas station in Lentekhi. We have done it!
