We had a small town- Driscoll, Texas- that had a police department whose sole activity was writing tickets on the highway. But Karma is a Bi***. A highway bypass was built on Highway 77 around the town. The town died, along with the police. Justice Has Been Served.
Thats like the city of Lidowici Georgia. It was so bad there the governor erected signs that warned travelers of the speed traps. Eventually, Interstate 95 went through and no tourists have to go through Lidowici anymore on their way to Florida and back. Unfortunately the city suffered since no one stops for gas and food.
@@sackclothashes2205 According to the fbi, roughly 65 million police encounters each year, Approximately 40 million of those are traffic stops, divided by 365 is roughly 125,000 traffic stops a day.
Yeah . Cops are revenue generators . 💯 That's their sole function. Supreme Court ruled cops can lie to us , and also have no duty to protect us either. Cops are here to harass and collect. Bottom line.
Actually no. I get what you're actually saying, but it should also be known thta this is not a new story. This is a story from 2022 and this guy reports it like it's new and gives no links or credit to all those that reported it originally in 2022.
Statistically TRAFFIC TICKETS have never changed any person's driving habits, ever! (Google search police citations vs road safety in your state) Pilfering and extorting incomes from taxpayers for PROFIT void of injured party expose police as habitually chronic, and volcanically narcissistic criminals who destroy the lives of community taxpayers while converting citizens into welfare recipients! FORCED TRAFFIC TICKETS pay Federal road grants at the taxpayer's expense! (Grants are government loans) Tickets never had anything to do with saving lives people, it's always been about checking for warrants and hidden taxation! USMC (Semper Fidelis) SGT E-5 (5811)
Also the Supreme Court ruled that the police aren't responsible for protecting (citizens) but for protecting infrastructure. Remember when seconds matter police are minutes away at best. Meaning the police rarely stop a murder but validate multiple careers by just investigating after the fact.
The other name was Night Rider, and definitely not with a K. That was the ironic thing about that television show. A small team after all the big dogs.
@@sayitaintso7544 It depends if it's an asset forfeiture state or not. If it is, cops basically have the legal right to take everything you own. As a black man, I'd NEVER drive through an asset forfeiture state and if I was forced to, I'd do so with a rental car. If they want to steal that, they and the rental car company's lawyers can duke it out! I'd have my wallet with my driver's license and my smart phone and a complicated password on it. I'd remove Face ID. No cash. No credit card. No wife. No kids. Nothing for them to extort from me. But you see how much effort that takes? Better to just stay away from scum states like this.
Even if the police weren't corrupt, they should still be defunded. America spends entirely too much money on police and we still have the highest crime rate of any western democracy. America spends over $113 BILLION every year on police, this is more than France and Germany spend on their entire militaries COMBINED, it's more than Russia spends on its military while fighting the war in Ukraine....and that doesn't even account for the epidemic of overtime theft by police that nothing is ever done about. Do you think it's a good expenditure to spend the most on cops and still have the highest crime? The reason for this, and you csn find this out in 2 minutes on Google, is that there is LITERALLY zero proof that more cops lowers crime, in fact there's plenty of evidence showing crime can and usually does go up when we add more police. Just look at the crime rate under Reagan who spent more on law enforcement than any preceeding president. Why did crime go up under Reagan? Because there was a 10%+ unemployment rate!!! Quite literally the only thing that has any evidence to show it lowers crime isnlowering poverty! This is how literally every other developed western nation has less crime per capita than America while having fewer cops and less harsh punishments. This is why anybody who claims they want to lower crime by adding more cops or increasing punishments doesn't actually want to lower crime, they just want to punish more.
I worked as a police officer in Phenix City, AL. I was told by the city court clerk not to issue tickets for handicapped parking violations because the city doesn't make any money on them. I had to write 2 tickets per shift in order to make their nonexistent quotas. I'm glad to hear that AL put a stop to some of this.
@rrock2025 imagine all republican small towns being corrupt as shit I'm posting shit in my yard. Exactly what they did to me in jail, for complying, on false charges.
Nor are the legally required to protect life according to the Supreme court "The Supreme Court has repeatedly held that the government has only a duty to protect persons even when they know the harm will occur, Police can watch someone attack you, refuse to intervene and not violate the Constitution.” - Darren L. Hutchinson, a professor and associate dean at the University of Florida School of Law.
Police are not, nor will they ever be, the arbiters of justice. They can RESPOND to problems, but they cannot solve them. People are just phucked up, can't blame cops for everything.
@@post-leftludditeThat is ignorant, in fact, most states have laws that punish cops for ignoring a crime in their presence! You been drinking that blm koolaid kid!
I've been making the same comments here as well guys . Cops are not here to keep anyone safe. Police are revenue generators. Supreme Court also ruled police can lie to us to help them build cases against us. Never , ever trust someone in a cop costume with your life or freedom! 💯🇺🇸 Or you'll be sorry ! 😢 Cops are so UNPREDICTABLE it's scary.
@@post-leftluddite read the first line the supreme court.... government has only a duty to protect persons..... so they do? i always look for a associate dean for my information on laws
The first thing you should do is DO NOT pay it, ask for jury trial, and fight the charges. If all who were ticketed did that....the town would lose money on the tickets
Protect and serve? I heard that phrase a few times in this video. What most fail to realize is that SCOTUS ruled about 40 years ago that it is not the responsibility of law enforcement to protect and serve. That is when they went from being police officers to law enforcement officers.
They ruled that a policeman or policewoman has no duty to sacrifice themselves (or put themselves in danger) to save a citizen. Which contradicts the PR publicly stated purpose and mission of "policing" doesn't it? Know what you call a firefighter who refuses to enter a building to save a life? Convict.
I live in Fayetteville and I try my hardest to avoid going through Jonesboro when coming from 75. A year ago an officer wrote me 6 tickets over nonsense. I had to hire an attorney to take care of it. Thankfully once everything was done the judge threw everything out.
As a former municipal auditor, I can attest to the fact that this goes on everywhere. MADD, mothers against drunk driving, post ‘80’s, made cities realize they could make millions off of fines from just drunk driving alone. Since then, city controllers work with the police to ensure the quotas are met - even tho they deny it. This allowed for guaranteed raises and a higher participation rate for their 401k’s. Always follow the money 💰
@@bobthetitanicwasn't the lead bit on this story how they capped it at 10% sending it to a state victims compensation fund for Alabama? Really need to cap it at 0% and do it nationwide, but it's a start.
@@sidcarver9076 water gets other things wet. It changes it. You aren't changing the state of water by adding more water. Like you aren't making dirt dirty by adding more dirt. 🤣🤣🤣
Its absolutely mind blowing this is just coming into the light. One of my dads friends was a cop.. I remember as a kid him saying "two more tickets and I get a big screen tv".. This was in the late 80s early 90s.
@@Alligator40 well they are both no longer on the earth. The cop I am talking about was also the fire chief. He got hit by a cruiser while on scene at a fire and really fkd em.. He left the force after that...
Asset forfeiture is a big department money maker.Texas legislature put a cap on traffic revenue limiting the amount of money derived form traffic for annual budgets which stopped a lot of speed traps
Police k9 named Cash. Enough said. Modern day slave patrol still in gull bloom down south states. Lennox goal is we need more 💰 for our pay raises, mortgages, kids college tuitions ,car payments, armored cars as probably none of them served on a battlefield like myself using armored vehicles. Serve and take your 💰. New police moto.😂😂
Hehehe I got pulled over there once. My southern accent and the "taking this Van to a church function" line worked well! That poor yankee didn't know what to think, just let me go on my way.
ACAB BLM needs to visit these cities and Tommy Coleman's office. Furthermore, I am wholly shocked by the absences of Ludowici and Waycross, GA from the list.
Does anyone in Georgia remember the Georgia city called Mountain View? This city had it's city charter revoked by the Legislature over this kind of corruption. It is no longer incorporated and the police department is defunct. The area is a warehouse hub that serves the Atlanta airport area. About all thats left to remind one of the former town is a narrow sign along the railroad tracks as a location marker for rail crews that simply reads ' Mt.View '.......
“If taxation without consent or monitoring is not robbery, then any band of robbers have only to declare themselves a government, and all their robberies are legalized.” - Lysander Spooner
Politicians need to step in all across the US but they hardly care. I wouldnt doubt they use their status to "persuade" the officer from giving them a ticket.
The PD in Locust Grove Ga exists for the sole purpose of collecting revenue. Real crime just gets ignored because there's no money in that. It's always been that way to some extend but now it's just "Policing for profit". Y'all need to look closer to home.
I pull people over for no tag light all the time, as long as they have a valid license there vehicle is registered and insured I give them a warning. I’ve arrested a lot of people on outstanding warrants, found a ton of fake plates, un insured and unregistered vehicles from simple stops like no tag light, no head light ect.
Every cop has to come up with i think 30 tickets a month. So they hand tickets out like candy. Some cities are like that. That's how they make 100k salary jobs. They eat off us. Half the time, we aren't even doing anything wrong but they will find something any which what way. Seen it first hand many many times. Shit gotta change. Going on way to long y'all
I’ve been saying this about Georgia for 10 years.. Taxation through citation is how Georgia rolls there’s even more county’s that aren’t listed.. drive through any other state and you’ll see Georgia has a revenue generating focus that I haven’t seen in other states
Every town, every city has its own county! Georgia is all about revenue. My grandpa left Atlanta on a Horse at 14 to get the hell away from this state, he rode all the way to Arizona to get the hell out of Georgia.
Turbeville, South Carolina... same deal. They'll pull you for doing 36 in a 35 and hit you with a $300 "city ordinance violation" instead of the state's speeding up to 10 over ticket of $76.50.
No kidding!!! It's going on in multiple places, at multiple levels in EVERY state. It isn't just law enforcement, it's also judicial; aimed in large part at people known to not have the financial ability to fight bogus/trumped up charges.
If you don’t know, in Georgia policeman get paid extra for having to appear in Court. So, if a policeman wants or needs to increase his paycheck, he writes bogus tickets or fines where they would have to appear in court. The policemen are not penalized for the bogus tickets or fines.
I find it funny that you’re reporting on small towns doing this when Hall co has 5 different police departments operating within its county line, Gwinnett is one of the richest counties in the state for the same reason, Cobb has a nickname that’s “count on being busted” and gsp runs wild through the whole state while buying new hellcats, and ZL1s. Georgia policing has been corrupt for a long time.
