Adam Campbell I am sure there are more, there are 850,000 officers across America When you talk those numbers your going to have that in every profession. What I do find amazing if you look at numbers it’s amazing how professional most police officers are. By looking at facts not lies and bias garbage from the media.

They will get hired down the street. The cheating won't stop. Cops are the business end of our controllers agendas. They're the absolute worst. It doesn't matter how unjust a law is, they enforce it every day. Should be tried for crimes against humanity if you ask me. Cops are the muscle. @Doug 1885: Video overwhelmingly shows the public as the antagonistic party to encounters with local law enforcement. For every instance like this or the Baltimore officer who was planting drugs, there's dozens more videos of the public being wholly unable to handle a speeding ticket.
If every LEO chief were as open and honest with the public as this gentleman, Police would not be as poorly perceived by the public; Police officers would be less likely to abuse their power; Police supervisors and prosecutors would be less likely to defend corrupt cops. Kudos.
I am most impressed with Col.McDonough's complete honesty and complete truthfulness on answering really tough questions concerning his organization. I wish him well in the future.

This is the proper stance for the events that took place!! Hopefully other administrators in all levels of government would be so transparent and honest in carrying out their duties !!
Seeing how the GSP is already a department short on people I think this goes to show just how much of a standard they set by letting off 30 (THIRTY) troopers!
It also goes to show how little of a standard they set by having a 30 member crime ring right under their nose for so long and nobody did anything about it.
handicapitation No, I do not see it as the culture but, unfortunately I think that is a valid question. I believe that, in whatever way they can, the GSP will be looking into past results. I see it as an inevitable result of online testing. It is rife with the potential to cheat and it has become so prevalent in many aspects of education systems.
Wow they cheated the RADAR school test. I was a police officer and took our RADAR course (40 hour course, 5 days of 8 hour days). It was freaking easy cause you had 5 days of study on one subject 8 hours a day.
I can sense the unbridled rage in his speech. This is a believes in integrity, and this dishonest act that occurred, he is sees it as a personal insult to him. Cheaters never prosper.
I'm sure FHP Florida Highway Patrol does that. They refuse to use professional standards, IA/internal affairs. 🚔. The FHP, due to numerous complaints set up new 360 degree DV-audio 📹 systems. I'd add that Troop D, Orlando refused to assist Pulse Orlando 🏳️🌈 until they knew they'd get paid over time, paid for fuel.
Um the police chief just held a press conference publicly dismissing the 30 cadets. Generalizing this to the entire police force across the nation is an ignorant statement.
6 months OJT, 4 month academy depending on state, 6 month FTO. 16 months to be a officer. 3500 to 5000 hours. Sorry way longer than the 1500 to be a barber.
I went to high school with Mark. Knowing him as I do, this is something that he would never stand for. Kudos Colonel for your swift and decisive action.
Well since you went to high school with him why don't you tell him for the rest of us that he looks like a goddamn dictator of a third world country dressed up in all that military garbage he has on
I’m not “gung-ho” about police in any fashion but I respect this Colonel. He’s totally transparent and respects all the reporters. True leader. Much respect.
Some of this doesn't add up. A "civilian" was able to pass a test that required 7 months of class, who by definition as a civilian couldn't take the class, yet the two studs of the class failed? And the ENTIRE class cheated?
That particular test isn't very hard. They didn't cheat because it was a hard test they cheated because they didn't want to take the time to take the test.
When I went to Radar school which was 40 hours. You had no online exam. Every test was in a classroom on paper with the instructors constantly looking at every student’s performance . In Radar school you learned the use of Radar the law and courtroom testimony. This is a total embarrassment for the Georgia Patrol.
Only an embarrassment if there were no consequences to the cheating (looking the other way or hiding it). Georgia Patrol did the right thing by firing the troopers. No embarrassment in doing the right thing and making it public
James Velvet Oh Col McDonough is pissed yes but there has to be some embarrassment there. I believe he saw no other alternative action in order to maintain the integrity of the department.
I want to talk with him because I had a trooper lie and said he gave me a ticket but he didn't I found out through my insurance that he gave me a ticket when he said know body was at fault I was hit by someone else.
This is the sort of decisive action which puts credibility and professionalism back into policing. Honest, transparent actions restore public confidence in police forces. We don't expect cops to be perfect, but we do expect them to be honest and professional. Tip of the hat to you, Colonel.
For me the most worrying aspect of this is that out of an original class of 33 cadets, 30 were willingly prepared to cheat. The issue is not that the online method of examination enabled them to do so, but that dishonesty was already inherent within virtually all of them. For law enforcement in general this should be an extremely concerning indicator.
DopeAMean Your reply is a complete symbol of what is wrong with society which by the way leads to this type of behavior. So does that mean you are also part of the problem? Yes, clearly. Stupid leftist propaganda has eaten away with moral and upstanding thinking and behavior. No God, no judgement, no rules, do what you want. Why even the U.S. Constitution is a “living” document, able to be changed in a whim as to what it means. It really does not advocate for freedom of speech, especially if I don’t like what you said! Why that must be Hate Speech! (No such animal). Absolute rubbish. Add to that the idea everything that goes wrong in some one’s life is because of somebody else’s fault and based on the color if their skin. Nothing is due to their own actions. So I wonder if you like playing or doing anything that has rules and in the middle of the game the rules are changed just so you lose and the other side wins? Cool thought eh? Love how America and western civilization is falling into this lazy mentality.
maddad621 The fact that your so offended makes me understand; in your heart, you know I’m right. Instead of ask why I feel the way I do, a sentiment that would actually require you to care. @@DopeAMean So do you hate white people and believe only minorities don't cheat...or do you believe that the minorities cheated but not held accountable?

@@georgehawkins858 that's my point. Just the fact they have the chance is completely incomprehensible. We wouldn't give child molesters another chance around kids. As a citizen, it is refreshing and reassuring to see a law-enforcement official using words like integrity and values and meeting them. I am sorry for these individuals, but I think this was a big step for the Georgia patrol, and needs to be modeled nationwide.
It's not so much the kind of person they are attracting as much as it is what they are left with. The workforce in general is dealing with a lot of really bad people, the result of bad parenting.
The larger issue is as a police officer you have to be able to do the correct thing even when you are not being watched. They should have been fired. This on the post makes extremely difficult to get hired elsewhere.
@@2777green Understood and agree with your comment. The Colonel was asked how they would correct it. My response was to that end. A simple correction that doesn't change the entire design of the course. The only thing changed is the testing phase, which is of minimal impact to the current program design.
Col. McDonough, I am sorry you were betrayed by an entire class. I congratulate you on the swift action in resolving this matter. Moving forward, YOU sir are NOT responsible for another individuals actions. You cannot control someone's actions and you certainly have proven what YOU stand for. YOUR control strictly involves what the outcome of their actions would be and to that, you Sir have handled this brilliantly, maintaining the core values the GA. State Troopers stand for, while at the same time keeping public interest as the main priority! Well done Sir. To cheat in earning a law enforcement badge, I cannot imagine how much any one of those troopers WOULD HAVE cheated the citizens, and they absolutely would have, had they NOT been caught. An entire class of dishonest trainees who lacked the main core value of character & integrity. Complete disappointment.
Nick C Col McDonough said in the video that it was online and you could tell from his manner that he was never happy with it being that way. He went on to say that it will be proctored from here on out.

A proper investigation would also include determining WHERE ELSE cheating has occurred and taking appropriate action. A scandal this large with MULTIPLE methods of cheating suggests SYSTEMIC FAILURES of leadership, and a much larger problem than merely one class of “bad apples.”

To your other point, no, I wouldn’t think the test was that hard. I mean it was about hand held radar and as the Colonel said in his press conference “It’s not like it’s rocket science....”
They already had the job. This test was to get certified in only one area of their job duties. This isn't sad. It's maddening! This is a prime example of the failure of law enforcement agencies to properly screen potential hires for morals, integrity, and psychological well being. These cheaters represent what's happening all over our country. Think about it. It makes me angry and frustrated, and very frightened.
It is an entitlement that the police all seem to believe they just these people ran into a boss who stood up although the rat might have acted if he didn’t so I wouldn’t give his too much respect for it.
An entire class cheated. This absolutely shows where the hiring practices of the police has taken itself. And also the calibre of today's police officers.
