Hi. What's the best dorm for an international transfer student (junior year)? Also, is it possible to start in the summer and continue into the Fall? Thanks.
@_wen1i_
@_wen1i_ 2 года назад
commons or loft (or mix if your rich) so you get your own room to put all your stuff. Honestly, I don’t know, but online for summer it stated that you can move in two weeks prior but have to pay extra $35 per night. You might want to call in and ask about it but heres the link for some info on it international.gsu.edu/summersessions-meals-accomodation/

What’s the biggest room in your opinion in the commons? And what room do you have?
@_wen1i_
@_wen1i_ 2 года назад
Honestly it's up to luck. The room differs from building and location cuz one of my friend had a big pillar in her room, making the room smaller than it already is.

Hey I have few queries 1. You're staying in which Housing (Patton Hall or Piedmont Central etc) 2. Can we change our roommates or rooms and Housing too. If we can 'How?' 3. Were the rooms give are Gender inclusive Or not (Edit) 4. How about food? Is cooking on campus is allowed or we have to go for the meal plan
@_wen1i_
@_wen1i_ 2 года назад
1. I stayed in central during freshman year and common during sophomore year. 2. You can change your roommates, but as for how idk. You can ask the RA about it. 3. they should. it's on the website

Do we need to prepare our own mattress when moving in?
@_wen1i_
@_wen1i_ 3 года назад
no, they have the mattress. just make sure to bring bed sheets (twin xl) and comforter
@j34586
@j34586 3 года назад
so is each room classified by bed A, bed B, etc?
@_wen1i_
@_wen1i_ 3 года назад
Yes, but it can also classify by beds. In central there is two rooms, and each room has two beds. The beds are then classified as bed A, bed b, etc. There should be a sign on top of the door for commons that has the letter of the room

like piedmont hall or central or north
@_wen1i_
@_wen1i_ 3 года назад
Patton, central, and north doesn't have kitchen or living room, and doesn't have two bathroom/restroom. Patton is single room with two beds connected with another room with two beds too. Central has two room with either 1 bed per room or two bed per room. North is all beds (2, 3, or 4) in one room.

which living community would you suggest for a CS freshman : Honors or STEM? And is there any difference between the living learning communities?
@_wen1i_
@_wen1i_ Год назад
Honestly I'm not to sure cuz I never heard of it, but it might just be the differences in study rooms in each floor. I would pick honors if it were me.

how's the wifi connections and do they have any ethernet ports on the wall?
@_wen1i_
@_wen1i_ 2 года назад
Not that I know of, but its for the whole building. For wifi connection, you have to create an account on myrestnet and input your devices’ wifi address. One account can only have up to 5 devices I believe. If its more than 5 than you have to pay.

For freshmen, only those that are honors can apply to live in common. (for sure cuz I have a friend that lived commons for their freshmen year) However, Im not sure if its possible to live in commons if one pf your roommate is upperclassmen. (only a guess)

A word of advice., which by the way, I base my opinion on persons by their actions and not where they are from or their ethnicity. Be cautious with regards to who will be your neighbors. I lived next to people from India who are in the computer technology field and ever since they moved in there has been nothing but trouble. I had issues with my WIFI and computer network being hacked. When I am online my connection constantly drops. Besides that about 5 people are living in a junior one bedroom which causes excessive noise at all hours. Additionally since there are so many of them they need to step outside and have phone conversations in front of other persons apartments causing a disturbance. They were repeatedly asked to stop but would not listen. When they used the laundry room they would leave the clothes in the machines for hours and even days sometimes. Meanwhile other people need to use the machines. They would not keep clean. Once an animal dropped turd right by their front door and they would not clean it up. The would constantly walk in and out and not have the decency to pick it up. This resulted in a fly problem in my house. And the problem did not subside until they moved out. Unfortunately these people have some kind of superiority complex where they think the shouldn't have to pick up after themselves and should get get everything cheap. Let me tell you, having technical training doesn't make you better.

I suggest telling the RA about it. They usually handles problems pretty well

How was your roommate able to have a pet?
@_wen1i_

well, I don't think she really ask for permission but it was a small pet in a terrarium, so we figure it was fine. also the RA didn't say anything about it too. But you are allow to have service animals.
