We absolutely love overlanding and can't wait to hit the road to explore and make videos on all those beautiful places! Looks like a fun adventure! 💙Terry and Terri

Excellent video! Very well put together. The music is perfect. The thing I like best is that you point out where you are and how you got there, which helps someone (like me) that's never been there, find it!

Nice. I've run that a few times myself. Tallulah River Rd is one of my favorites. Great river views, fishing and swimming holes. Gonna try and finish the Traverse this fall. Hope to catch ya'll on the trails sometime.

I went up there Sunday the 16th and was bummed that I couldn’t get to do Sarah’s creek. We got across the river and in that first turn after to climb a grand Cherokee on highway tread was buried to the left and my ram 2500 is too big in stock suspension to slide to the right of it. That’s a great trail and like you said I hope it does not get closed due to all the traffic.

I live here. My H2, never changes gears. Do 7 rivers road. .... You'll need some height for that. I nearly sunk a 93 GMC with a 6in lift on 37s. Water over the hood. I haven't been back up there, nor do even if I know people are allowed, in over 15 years. Road ends up in Clayton, but starts in Helen, Batesville area. Its, rather gnarly. More so than this. Like most good trails these days, It's probably shut down.

I haven’t heard of 7 rivers road so your probably right and it’s been closed. A lot of roads have been closed.

That's hilarious. I was looking for videos on routs for dual sports and came across yours. When you talk about the tnga at the beginning I ride by. I was the second bike. The red Canyon. I'm watching and I didn't recognize at first but I'm like huh thats really similar to the setup I ran. So I back it up and and I 'm like wait that's me. lol. Lots of beautiful country up there. That race was super tough with all the rain though.

This is bar far my most watched video. Glad you got to see it. Yeah the route really sucks in the rain. Mainly because where you gonna go? You just suck it up and keep riding.

I live in north Georgia in Cumming. I just bought my new two door bronco. Eventually my plan is to turn it into an overlander but first I’d love to get used to off-roading and run some of these simple trails. I have no experience but willing to learn and am looking for people to go out on trails with since I don’t know anyone.

You will be fine, most of the traverse is just a gravel road. There are some side roads that are a little rough but over all you will be fine. Should be perfect weather this weekend.

I’ve wanted to do this. I have an 03 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer edition. Has 4 high, 4 low. Used to take it on the beaches in NY. Other than falken wild peak A/T tires, a light bar and a bunch of rust from Northern driving it’s stock. How do you think it would fair? I’d air down to 15psi for the beach. How do you know when to air down over landing? Is there a set psi you should just go to once off road to avoid punctures? Thanks for the video.
@mtboverland
@mtboverland 3 года назад
Your expedition would be fine on 95% of the Georgia traverse. There are some sections that are a little worse than others. But as long as you don’t mind rubbing the bottom you should be fine. As for airing down on the traverse it’s mostly for comfort. I usually run about 20 on the traverse. If I go to an off-road park I’ll drop it to around 15.

Awesome description. How long do you think it would take to do the traverse if we were camping on the traverse and wanted to stop for a decent hike each day? We are coming from KY and I'd like to take my time to do it and also hike some of the trails with my dog
@mtboverland
@mtboverland 3 года назад
If you are touring, camping and hiking it’s gonna take a good 4 days to really enjoy everything. But with limited stops it could probably be done in 2. There are lots of places to stop along the way to hike or just enjoy looking around. I suggest late April or may. The forest is so beautiful as it greens up

Shouldn’t be an issue it’s just a forest service rd that has gotten a little rough in some spots. It has some slick spots but you should be fine in a truck.

Great video. Just curious as I’m new to Overlanding what kind of abuse were you referring to on Charlie’s creek? I didn’t see any trash, just graffiti.
@mtboverland
@mtboverland 3 года назад
It has to do with overuse, Charlie’s creek rd is just a forest service road, people treat it as if it’s an off road park. They go off of the main road and create alt lines on private property and ride when conditions are wet and muddy further tearing up the road. It’s a beautiful road that is just getting over used at the moment
@mtboverland
@mtboverland 3 года назад
Oh and thanks, one of the most important things a person can do when out in the wild is to leave no trace that you were there.

@@mtboverland ok and again I’m a newbie. I have to say I did take one of the alt routes😬. I’m going to plead ignorance as I had seen others that did it I thought it was what you do🤷‍♂️. I don’t like mud bogging though and try not to spin. Even with the crappy tires I have I don’t really spin. I just like exploring. Also I’m a previous MTB’r who will be getting back into it now that my littles are interested, so that has helped. I’m just trying to learn proper overland etiquette. That’s pretty much it, oh and your videos are awesome, I took my little Cretans to Charlie’s creek and tray mt this past weekend and they loved it. Such a blessing. Happy trails my friend.
@mtboverland
@mtboverland 3 года назад
Completely understand sometimes it’s hard to know the legit roads anymore. Usually official roads will be marked with a number. If you see a off shoot that just short cuts the road it’s probably not legit. There are a lot of short off shoots that just lead to camping spots. Sometimes I’ll just pull the bike off the back and take a quick spin to check out a road. And in most cases you can ride your bike on closed roads, so it opens up the chance to explore.

It’s just a courtesy, these guys and gals were at the beginning of a ride across the entire state the hard way. Often times on gravel or dirt roads they can travel faster than the 4 wheel vehicles. I’ve done that ride and it’s much easier to just let them go buy.
