Why do people always bring up Brock and Ladd in that SEC title game when they were clearly less than 50% healthy. The head scratcher for me was us not relying on healthier guys but instead forcing to guys that's hurt. Also not playing Jalon Walker as much as we should've. It's little things the coaching staff does from time to time thats confusing to me but hopefully they're on point this weekend. Would hate to lose to Bama once again....

And here is the big problem with the number crunching sports nerds who dont really know what they are looking at when watching the game regarding this supposed shut down alabama secondary: when you turn on the tape you see receivers running around wide open in the secondary, they just havent faced a competent quarterback yet that can make them pay. Beck can certainly do that. This game will be decided by who wins the linen of scrimmage like it usually does

You do know that's because Womack said that he didn't switch out of defensive schemes because he seen the qb couldn't hit the throws right?? So to think that means beck will have a field day against bama secondary and your gonna have guys running wide open all game is a bad take. Your talking as if ga didn't have guys running wide open against Clemson and kentucky lmao. Thing is kentucky exposed ga weaknesses. My longer take on UGA, Bobo the bozo and the last 5 games. I am a UGA fan. How Conservative Playcalling and Bobo’s Return Doomed Georgia and will again. Georgia’s defeat in the 2023 SEC Championship wasn't just about Alabama’s stellar play. Much of the blame must fall on Georgia’s Offensive Coordinator, Mike Bobo, whose conservative play-calling haunted the Bulldogs throughout the game. Despite having the offensive firepower to keep Alabama on their heels, Bobo's refusal to open up the playbook stifled Georgia’s momentum at crucial moments, particularly in the second quarter when they were held scoreless. This isn't the first time Bobo’s play-calling has come under fire. His previous tenure as Georgia’s OC from 2007 to 2014 saw similar criticisms, particularly in high-pressure situations where his predictable strategies failed to adjust to the elite defenses of Alabama and other top-tier opponents. Many fans were perplexed by Kirby Smart’s decision to bring Bobo back after Todd Monken left for the NFL. Monken had crafted one of the most dynamic offenses in the country, leading Georgia to back-to-back national championships. Bobo, however, returned with a reputation for playing it safe-a flaw that proved costly against Alabama. In the 2023 SEC title game, Georgia managed just 78 rushing yards on 31 attempts, with Bobo frequently opting for conservative runs on early downs that often left Georgia in unfavorable third-down situations. While Carson Beck had a solid game (21/29, 243 yards), Georgia's offense struggled to stay on the field, as Bobo’s unwillingness to take chances downfield limited their opportunities. A Game of Small Margins The last five games between Alabama and Georgia have been decided by narrow margins, and this latest chapter was no different. The 2023 SEC Championship marked Alabama’s fourth consecutive win over Georgia in SEC title games (2012, 2018, 2021, 2023), with each contest hinging on late-game heroics, key defensive stops, or critical coaching decisions. Alabama’s 27-24 win followed this script, with Jalen Milroe delivering timely passes and Alabama’s defense stepping up to stifle Georgia’s high-powered offense. But beyond Alabama’s performance, the game felt like one Georgia could have, and perhaps should have, won. Georgia’s defense largely kept Alabama’s offense in check, limiting Milroe to 192 passing yards and holding Alabama to 306 total yards. Yet, the Bulldogs' offense couldn’t capitalize when it mattered most, due in no small part to the cautious game plan. Bobo’s Impact on Georgia’s Championship Hopes Georgia’s conservative play-calling wasn’t just an issue in this game-it could cost them a chance at the national championship. If Alabama knocks Georgia from the top spot, the Bulldogs' path to the College Football Playoff is suddenly less certain. Even if they make the playoffs, teams like Tenn, Ohio State, or Texas are likely going to be watching tape of this game and seeing how Bobo’s lack of aggressive play-calling could be exploited. What’s even more baffling is why Kirby Smart chose to bring Bobo back after his uninspiring first stint as OC. When Smart took over as head coach, he promised to bring Georgia to the forefront of college football. After back-to-back titles, they have done just that. But with Bobo, the offense has taken a step backward, and many fans are left wondering if this decision will be the Achilles heel that undoes all of Georgia’s hard-earned success. Conclusion The 2023 SEC Championship game was yet another thrilling encounter in the Alabama-Georgia rivalry, but it also highlighted the limitations of Georgia’s offense under Mike Bobo. In a game decided by just three points, Georgia’s conservative approach, especially in critical moments, made the difference. While Alabama rightfully celebrated their SEC title, Georgia fans are left questioning whether Bobo’s play-calling will cost them not just this game, but their shot at another national championship.

B.S. Always a fan regardless of the stats blame a coordinator instead of the coach. After reading this manifesto of yours one might think Bobo is the head coach. Guess what? He is not. Any idea how rare it is to lose a game consistently by a field goal or less to one team under one coach? It's absurd, like your post.

@@wesleygary6651 Perhaps you cant reade. My first sentece was "I am a UGA fan". As a fan I have every right to point out the obvious. Oh, @wesleygary6651, you're absolutely right-how could I have missed the obvious fact that Bobo isn’t the head coach? My bad for pointing out his play-calling as the offensive coordinator. You must be thrilled knowing Kirby Smart is actually standing there personally picking conservative run plays on 3rd and long, right? And since we’re all about defending Bobo, let’s take a trip down memory lane, shall we? Remember Richt? Yeah, he was told to hand over offensive duties to this same bozo-I mean, Bobo-after his second SEC Championship win. Then, after three years of painfully mediocre play-calling and watching Georgia's offense sputter, Richt had to step back in, and voilà-explosive offense! Bobo was then shown the door. But hey, if Bobo was such a genius, why’d they dump him in the first place? I mean, surely he wasn’t just coincidentally the OC when Georgia was struggling offensively... right? So, to sum up: if you read my so-called "manifesto," can you actually point out anything I said that was incorrect? No? Didn't think so.

Everyone’s in for a wide awakening. Bama has played god awful opponents and yall think they’re some kind of god. Georgia struggled against a Kentucky defense who had a phenomenal scheme and executed better than they will all year. Bamas defense is nothing like Kentuckys defense. Beck will fry them. Prolly throws for around 350 yards. Georgia prolly has 2 backs with over 60 yards on the ground milroe turns the ball over 2 times. Georgia wins 30-19

And when I say nothing like bamas defense, Kentucky ran a lot of disguised cover 3 to 4 and 4 to 3. If you know anything about football. Those are completely different reads and qb has to make for those 2 coverages. That’s what was stumping Carson. Bama runs cover 1 and 90% of the time if they aren’t cover 1 they disguise it into Tampa 2. Carson has throw extremely well into those looks. Bama has to get pressure on Beck or it’s going to be a long game for that defense

Why Mike Bobo’s Conservative Play-Calling Could Keep Georgia from the Playoffs in 2024 The University of Georgia’s football team has become a powerhouse in recent years, with back-to-back national championships in 2021 and 2022. However, the 2024 season brings with it concerns about Mike Bobo's role as the offensive coordinator. Although Bobo is an experienced figure in UGA’s coaching history, his conservative tendencies could jeopardize Georgia’s chances of success, especially against elite teams like Alabama, Tennessee, and Texas. This season, with its brutal schedule, may see Georgia struggle to make the College Football Playoff, and Bobo’s cautious play-calling could be the culprit. Bobo’s Conservative Play-Calling: A Hindrance Against Top Teams One of the major concerns surrounding Mike Bobo is his reliance on conservative play-calling, particularly in critical moments. Throughout the 2024 season, this tendency has led to predictability and missed opportunities in games that Georgia should have controlled more decisively. Bobo often leans heavily on running the ball on first and second downs, limiting offensive creativity. While the running game is a key part of Georgia’s offensive identity, Bobo’s reluctance to take risks-especially when facing strong defenses-leaves the team vulnerable to elite programs like Alabama. When facing a team like Alabama, known for its stout defense, Georgia will need to mix things up offensively. Predictable, run-heavy play-calling can be easily countered by Nick Saban’s defensive schemes, and if Bobo continues to play it safe, Georgia may find itself struggling to move the ball effectively against such a well-prepared opponent. The same applies to Tennessee and Texas, both of which boast dynamic offenses capable of putting up big points. Tennessee’s up-tempo offense under Josh Heupel will force Georgia into high-scoring situations, where Bobo’s conservative nature may backfire. Tennessee has the firepower to overwhelm a Georgia offense that isn’t taking chances, making it difficult for Georgia to keep pace if they fall behind early. Predictability and Missed Opportunities in 2024 In 2024, Bobo’s conservative tendencies have become increasingly evident in Georgia’s red-zone performance. Despite having some of the best offensive talent in the country, Georgia has often struggled to capitalize on key opportunities. Bobo’s insistence on running the ball in obvious situations, rather than opting for creative passing plays or trick formations, has led to stalled drives and missed scoring chances. This will be especially problematic against teams like Texas, where every possession will count. In high-stakes games, offensive creativity is often the difference between winning and losing. Bobo’s reluctance to trust his quarterback to make big plays downfield, or to utilize the full array of offensive weapons at his disposal, will cost Georgia when facing the aggressive, unpredictable defenses of Alabama, Tennessee, and Texas. A Tough Schedule and Slim Margin for Error Georgia’s 2024 schedule is one of the toughest the program has faced in years. With Alabama, Tennessee, and Texas all on the docket, there is little room for error. Any loss could severely impact Georgia’s chances of making the College Football Playoff, and with Mike Bobo calling plays, the Bulldogs’ margin for error becomes even slimmer. To make the playoffs, Georgia will need to dominate opponents not just on defense, but by consistently putting up points. In past seasons, Georgia’s success has been driven by an aggressive, balanced offense capable of scoring in bunches. If Bobo continues to play it safe, relying on his defense to carry the team while his offense stalls out, Georgia risks losing close games to high-powered offenses like Tennessee and Texas. In such a competitive season, style points matter. The College Football Playoff selection committee values teams that not only win but win convincingly. Bobo’s conservative approach may lead to fewer blowout victories, which could hurt Georgia’s playoff resume, even if they manage to scrape by with wins in some of these key matchups. Conclusion: A Playoff Run in Jeopardy Mike Bobo’s conservative play-calling is a significant liability for Georgia as they enter the critical 2024 season. With Alabama, Tennessee, and Texas looming on the schedule, the Bulldogs will need to play their best football to remain in playoff contention. Unfortunately, Bobo’s predictable tendencies, overreliance on the running game, and reluctance to take risks may prevent Georgia from reaching their full offensive potential. In a season where every game matters, Georgia could easily find themselves on the outside looking in when it comes to the College Football Playoff. To stay competitive against the nation’s best teams, Bobo will need to adapt, opening up the playbook and trusting his talented roster to make big plays. Without this change in philosophy, Georgia’s hopes of returning to the playoff and contending for another national championship could be in serious jeopardy.
