Tennessee beats UGA for the first time in 5 years. It is laughable the amount of arrogance shown by most of the Tennessee fans. I would've said "UT" fans but we all know that means Texas. Go Dawgs.
I refer to Texas and Tennessee as Texas and Tennessee. I use UT as the postal abbreviation for the state of Utah. Also, I refer to Southern California as USC and South Carolina as South Carolina, and I get very confused when people refer to South Carolina as USC, even as a Georgia fan.
I was at this game sitting behind the UGA sideline. I knew it was bad when they started having injured player's parents come to the sideline to comfort their sons upon hearing that their season was over (mostly ACL tears). You could clearly see Georgia's players on the sideline losing faith. Georgia didn't have an answer for losing that many offensive skilled starters in one game. It was just a bad game for everyone. Both sides felt like they lost. No glory in winning the way we did and then on top of that our national championship hopes were destroyed. That was supposed to be our year. Just heartbreaking seeing how good we were with all our players and then barely being able to field a team the rest of the season.
Tennessee vs Georgia has always been a close fought series. This game had way to many injuries on UGA's side tho. definitely shifted momentum in Tennessee's favor.
Both teams have always fought. GA won five in a row (2010 - 2014, and TN won in 2015 and 16. All great games. Until Saturday, September 30, 2017. Didn't see much fight out in the Vols in their 41-0 loss, their worst home loss since, I believe, the 1896 game when Georgia beat them 77-0.
+braindamagedhorse123 You can't always blame injuries. You still won the game. If Georgia was truly that good of a team, they would have had the depth to win, which they did because Pig Howard had to fumble it away. If you have to blame it on injuries then you really aren't that good.
+djtrumpet11 Yeah but if you look at these injuries Keith Marshall and JSW were replacing starters ( Todd Gurley and Malcolm Mitchell)that were already hurt. So we were starting to play 3rd-4th string players
Reed Clifton really? You guys were ranked last year and we weren't. "We weren't good" dude that's bull crap😂we also beat you again haha. You beat us by 3 two years in a row when we were terrible and you guys were in the top ten😂😂
People here complaining and anyone who will complain about the video being bias, Sean Tigallo has posted only Georgia highlights and his profile picture has a Georgia helmet, albeit with a Miami helmet. Complaining about him being biased is like going to Belk and complaining that you couldn't buy groceries.
David Funderburk I only expected the video to be what it was billed as... nothing more, nothing less! The main highlight of the entire game was Aston (Pig) Howard's fumble at the 1" line in OT that handed Georgia the victory!
Heartbreaking indeed, yet inspiring for the performance of such a young inexperienced team! Played, during the course of the game, some 21 freshman and these guys are now Juniors... bright road ahead!
UGA won the game but the season was over. Injuries killed that season. By the end the season when they played Nebraska the lost all their starting skilled positions players to injuries
Thanks for posting this. I was listening to the first quarter of the game in the car; it was helpful to put images to what I heard over the radio. I would have preferred highlights for both teams, even as a Georgia fan.
Half of their starters?? haha its funny you say that because keith marshall was the only one that was hurt... and if thats half of your team I am sorry.
Gurley was out, he's one starter. Marshall went down with an ACL tear, that's two. JSW tore his in this game, that's three. Michael Bennett went down in this game with a knee injury, that's four. We were already missing Malcolm Mitchell, that's five. I also think we may have been missing one more starter on offense, but i can't exactly remember, so we were missing five starters on offense for sure, while potentially missing 6 out of 11 people on offense, and we were playing so many back ups. When you are missing 6 of your primary play makers on offense, i do believe that's half of your starters. Not to mention, we may have been missing two starters on defense as well. That may have been the Vandy game I'm thinking about though.
Zachary Grimsley Jay Rome was either injured or he was returning in this game, either way he was not 100%. Also, Jonathan Rumph, a very tall and talented receiver, didn't play much all year because he was injured. Of Georgia's top eight receivers, half of them missed a chunk of the season with an injury. Chris Conley was also banged up and wasn't at 100% by the end of the season. That left Reggie Davis, a true freshman, to step into a bigger role. Rantavious Wooten and Rhett McGowan were also recruited to be check down receivers and all of the sudden they were forced to be Murray's primary targets for a while.
I knew we had more injuries than I could remember, which says something about our team, because we still did pretty decently without them! It also says something about how many injuries we had, because when it comes to my favorite football teams,I can usually remember just about anything. Thanks for the help!
oh yeah. They derailed our entire season. I don't care what anyone says either, because the UGA team that Mizzou played wasn't the same UGA team LSU and South Carolina played. And then two bogus targeting penalties against Vandy screwed us as well. Last year was just a bad year. I'm expecting much improvement this year, but I'm not gonna go out and say we are gonna have an SEC championship or anything like that. I'm just gonna keep my mouth shut and see what happens.
Despite hal of uga starter being hurt??? lol.... excuses for should have losing to an unranked TN team lol... TN was without the same amount of players, even 5 starters... RB (MARLIN LANE), DT (MAURICE COUCH), LB (CURT MAGGIT), WR (DEVRIN YOUNG) & CB (RIYAHD JONES) lol... Make more excuse while you should've lost to unranked TN while predicted to compete for National Title lol... Another underachieving team for an underachieving coach mark richt lol...
What a fail "highlights" video...at 5 minutes into the video TN has 3 points on the board....why isn't that in the video? Please do us all a favor and use a proper label on your videos like "Georgia-biased highlights vs. [team]" I'm now 8 minutes older and can't get that time back....
