Under the terms of the proposed law, organizations that receive 20 percent or more of their funding from overseas will have to register as agents of foreign influence and adhere to tight administrative rules, or else face substantial fines…Georgia… So no such law is in US etc,…but is in Russia….
The US foreign agent registration law pertains to those lobbying or trying to influence government decisions. It applies to US citizens and foreign persons.
You love spreading misinformation do you? The law doesn’t forbid US citizens to have connections with other countries who wrestle friends, while Russian law is basically Soviet Union type of law that shuts country down and forbids them of foreign connections which already damaged their economy and implying that same law would make Georgia 🇬🇪 complete puppet of Russian regime
American NGOs don't want to be forced to register so they organize a "protest". The irony being that the US, nearly all countries actually, have exactly the same sort of laws.
I get my income from abroad as I work remotely... I am also very critical of my government so I as a citizen will not give them a mechanism to use laws to control my freedom and shut me up on some trumped up charges if I decide to become politically active.
@@giogvarianashvili6309 Are you organizging protests? I doubt it. Individual citizens with unrelated foreign income are not the concern of governments that implement this sort of law. The conern of governments, is when other governements interfere. The US is very good at it via NGOs such as USAID and NED. Billions upon billions of dollars poured into influencing the politics all around the world. Nobody can get away that in the US, ironically. But the US wants the freedom to do that to others all around the world.
