my gran used to own a shop in high spen on the corner before turning to go up to barlow

I wonder if she knew my nan and grandad. Nan was from London but my grandad Stan was from High Spen. My nan spoke so fondly of the years she spent there.

@@johnirwin85 did you know Stan Douglas ? His mum was Margeret Douglas . They lived on Strothers Terrace.My great grandad, Snowdon was killed in the pit.
