This is the most enjoyable post I’ve seen. I was a 13 fishing rod fan when fate black first came out. And when they picked up up I payed attention to what you did and what you said about 13 fishing rods. Thank you, Dave and Gerald! Great interview Dave! Gerald is one of my favorites. I would love someone to have a tournament where all the anglers have to fish the same five baits. All they can change is the color and size of those five baits. That would certainly help determine who was the best angler on that day. Then, on the final day, everyone uses the same five baits, color, and size.

Great stuff Dave once again you didn’t disappoint! The G-man is all knowing! What shocked me was to hear him say he didn’t want to throw a stick bait because he just didn’t want to. I went through this this year and through that date for the first time! I always thought why should I bother when I can catch them On my confidence Bates which is a spinner bait and finesse jig. My son was with me this day for the first time when I threw that Bait and all he did was laugh at me because of the numbers and size of fish that I caught. Keep the great

Gerald fools a lot of people in the sport period. The fact that he approaches him in front of a reporter just confirms what he is? That’s why Trey responded like he did. Just like most gerald has sold his soul to the social media side of things cause it’s more lucrative than tournament bass fishing by itself. Trey was let down by one of his idols but Trey is truly guided by the Holy Spirit so I know he will overcome this n probably light a 🔥 with the competition. By the end of the season he will have swindle doing standup comedian in a 2 bit bar somewhere. 😂 Hey I call it like I see it and I agree with you 100%. This sport has gotten to where I can care less to even watch it anymore because they rig it so drama happens so they can simply generate revenue off of it. I remember when NASCAR was Real NASCAR. I never thought in a million years professional bass fishing would have sold its soul to the world but it’s happening. Makes you feel bad for younger anglers like Trey but we all knew it was coming

I was able to watch Andy Morgan in person last year tackle a 1/4 mile stretch of docks with a jig, it was pure perfection, he went through that stretch in about 1/10th of the time it would take us mere mortals to do it that effectively :)

Back to what GMAN said about negativity. I fish club tournaments on my 3 home lakes. And most of the old guys I fish with we all have decent 15-20k rides equipped with the best we can bc we’re all blue collar guys. And we have a lot of these dudes roll in on these 75-100k rides and they won’t even speak to us after we say hi or anything. But like he said we pay no mind to those guys. Bc half of those dudes like that can’t even back there boat down the ramp. 😂😂😂😂😂

Gerald has saved my mental life. He has brought me back to ground. I had been a subscriber to Randy Blaukat channel and it was so negative about everything. I don’t own FFS and I feel impacted by his channel. I’m sure he has a great amount of knowledge and I’m sure he is a great conservationist but the sport just doesn’t need negativity. I just come back to Gerald when I need uplifted. Awesome interview Dave.

I’m pretty indifferent about forward facing sonar, wish everyone would stop trying to sell me it. If I was Randy and worked with that Johnny I’d look at it. As someone who turned down an elite invitation I see Gerald’s point about the qualifying process. Negativity will produce more negativity. Positivity will produce positivity. You literally determine your own life. If you seek negativity then that's what you'll find. Same goes for positivity. Things don't always go great even if your a positive person. The difference is they don't dwell on whatever bad happened. They learn from it and there's the positivity in the bad. They use the bad to learn how to change it to a good thing.

Dave, my resolution is to get my 1986 skeeter with a 150 mercury black max back on the lake after 20 years in my garage. My wife of 30 years passed away after battling cancer for four years in 2004. She wanted to go out in the boat and because it had not been used since we found out she had cancer I didn't get it ready in time. So it has set in the garage all these years. I live on a lake but just go out back and fish from shore. I'm on a fixed budget but hope it won't cost to much. Thank you and Gerald for this awesome video. 🎣❤

GMAN speaks straight truth. I stray on my boys in their high school tourneys about being themselves when they are on stage. No need to act different just because there is a mic in their face. GMAN is my all-time favorite angler because I can relate to him and know that when he talks, it's from the heart and the truth.

I enjoyed the show. But, I kind of have to disagree, I saw Matt Robertson on a fishing show once and that was more than enough. He got quite annoying and it was like watching a guy trying to be a comic about things in life that had nothing to do with fishing. Even my fiance thought he was annoying... LOL A little of watching him goes a long way. Not my thing for sure. He is a good angler, not gonna disagree but his personality or TV persona is definitely not for me. Not everyone is going to like everyone.
