As big as the Navajo Nation is, 'kinda surprises me that they couldn't come up with one elderly Navajo woman to play the part they were looking for. Back in those days, 'probably actually more women of that age that were actually speaking Navajo and very little English.
I saw the movie "The Car" several years ago. I think it was a TV movie, but I'm not sure. At that time, I didn't know that Geraldine was playing the deputy. She was so hot! But only a year before she was Littte Moonlight in "The Outlaw Josey Wales", perhaps her most iconic performance, in one of my favorite movies of all time. What an actor and what a woman.
