Really what is the problem here? I understand about the second season but now all of you are acting like spoiled babies. Truly what is wrong here? You're just looking for excuses to hate them. The scene is fine. What the fuck is wrong in this scene? francesca findabair? What? Do you expect her to stop yennefer from stopping a portal that she doesn't even know why it is there? And she is mad. She thinks yennefer is vile and disgusting. And I would do exactly as she did. I would tell yen that she thinks she is a traitor to her race. And yennefer shoved her before francesca could do anything! SO TELL ME, WHAT ELSE DO YOU EXPECT?
@@nileverdeen3797Why because he’s passionate about the role he’s playing and quit the show because he’s had enough of them spitting on something he loves. Yeah Witcher fans are weird for liking him.
Well of course lore wise Geralt is among the best if not considered the best witcher with such a brutal abilities (but deep down a soft warm heart) But yeah if it wasn’t for girl boss sh** and bad plot ruining the show
@@elliswinchester5858 started reading the books, currently at the last one and i cant believe how much better the story is. They are not even some literature masterpieces and are written almost like a screenplay. They couldve have made a series starting with the last wish and have a much better world building. How the fuck did Netflix manage to screw it up is beyond me.
The elves on the Netflix show look and act as if the showrunnners walked into a random cosplay camp and asked: Hey, can we borrow you guys for a few scenes on this fantasy show we’re doing?
nonsense. How can you compare cosplay with this rubbish. Cosplayers spend a lot of money on fabric, sew the costumes themselves, paying attention to every detail. They do excellent makeup and copy the behavior and phrases of their characters, because they love them and in the end they have an excellent result that is impossible to distinguish from the original work. Here the screenwriters themselves declared that they hated this work, so only Henry Kavel tried here. Leftist fascism is evil. People like Lauren Schmidt should be given not a director's place but a bed in prison
Henry and the fight director carried this show heavily. Obviously, Geralt dispatching multiple people within seconds is cool, but I also like how he checks on Yennefer for a disproportionate amount of time after exiting the portal. It’s almost like they both tried their best to counter the story’s narrative
Chris maybe, because he's used to doing high fantasy, we know next to nothing about his younger brother. The only thing I can think of is the Hunger Game movies, and what exactly did he bring to the plot, eye candy for the female and gay viewers? I mean, we all know Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) was the backbone of that whole series.
Francesca Findabair, also known as Enid an Gleanna, was one of the oldest and most renowned sorceresses in the books. In addition, she was a founder of the Lodge of Sorceresses and a member of the Chapter of the Brotherhood of Sorcerers. She was one of the twenty-two mages that fought against Nilfgaard and survived the Battle of Sodden Hill. After the Thanedd Coup, Francesca even threatened to decompress Yennefer again if she chose to flee, a threat that the latter took very seriously implying how very formidable Francesca truly was. Here, she got her ass whooped by Yen instead with one telekinetic blast. I wish the series had stayed true to its original concept. She would have given Yennefer a run for her money. Also, in comparison to this, she was regarded as the most beautiful woman in the world and treated with very high regard in the novels. The show just made her into another miscasted if not pathetic character like what they did to the rest. #KeiraMetz #MargaritaLauxAntille #PhilippaEilhart #SigismundDijkstra #Eskel #FringillaVigo and the list goes on 🫨
Agree with mostly everything though I do think that Yen pushing Francesca back isn't proof of anything - her reflexes were just quicker than Francesca's - it doesn't instantly mean she's more powerful. Also about the miscast part. The actress is a successful model and gorgeous irl. The show's makeup did her wrong. And secondly, it's impossible to cast the most beautiful woman in the world but Mecia works well. She looked great in S2 when she was in Cintra, idk why they're dressing her in rags this season and having her live in the forest.
I was sooooo waiting to see how they gonna do Franceska and Lara (Elder blood original bearer) as they both were described as extremely , extremely beautiful women . Yeah… well, with Lara at least they didn’t completely ruin it, but still kinda meh. You get some expectations when thinking about THE MOST beautiful woman around right? And we got a 7/10 Lara and a 6/10 Franka… before you say some crap about the beauty in the eye of the beholder or that it is hard to find 10/10 girls … the streets are literally packed with 9/10 and 10/10 , the clubs , the instagrams (no they are not all filters trust me ) the universities , the fkng McDonald’s why not … eh
@@AzureFIame but that betrayal was before she got to know Ciri. Cirl was someone she had no emotional attachment to. Yennefer is willing to kill and betray to keep what's hers. But now that she realized Ciri is what she's been searchin for when she wanted a child. She's willing to do whatever it takes even kill for Ciri. There's no limit she wouldn't cross for Ciri. Ciri was a stranger to her in season 2. So I don't know why people are so pissed about the betrayal. It's in character for Yennefer. Yennefer in book may have would've made the same decision as the show Yennefer. If she lost her powers and was melipated by the deathly mother before being put in charge of Ciri. We don't know. In book. Because it was Triss and Geralt that brought her to Ciri. There was no betrayal or thought of sacrifice. But in show the deathly mother got to her first.
@@ericasharp1872 "So I don't know why people are so pissed about the betrayal." Because that didn't happen in the books. It's all Laura Hissrich's fart water-flavored writing.
This scene is is a perfect example how right they got the character of Geralt. In the First video game back in 2007 based on this awesome novels there was a moment where someine said" Witchers carry two blades, one made of silver for monsters and one made steel for people." And Garett Killed it " They are both for monsters!"
"How right they got the character of Geralt", which Geralt? The game or cannon version? If u mean the cannon version then nah. But Geralt is potrayed better than Yennefer for example.
He is the only one putting any actual ''weight'' to his hits making them more realistic. Meanwhile Freya does not and it's very obvious. There is no ''strength'' in her punches you can just see that she is pretending.
Sadly, I entirely agree. Ciri looks like she's simply not got the muscle or skill to really swordfight someone, let alone fight bare-handed when she elbows people in this fight. Cavill looks utterly convincing hacking through all-comers, though. Yennefer was good as well, though, catching the fireball and throwing it back.
Ig you have a point with the elves but what about Ciri’s fighting is ridiculous? If anything it’s realistic, Ciri is a newcoming warrior not a seasoned one. Nitpick all you want but can you at least nitpick the right things?
@@Damodred_Heiress What I mean is that she looks completely ridiculous and unconvincing, especially in that first scene. She’s supposed to be like 12 years old at this point in the story, she wouldn’t be fist fighting anyone.
Yeah well they tried to take his daughter what is it with elves and killing and taking children in this show so they had this coming especially Francesca karma.
My dude henry is just killing like he is got 5 hands and swords with 2 fricking hands and fricking sword man i fückin loved this battle the way he js using his instinct reflexes it's phenomenal 💥💥💥
1:28 So Geralt jumps through a portal, which Yennfer is struggling to keep open for him in the midst of a battle, only to break Rience’s hands and then leave? Couldn’t he have sliced his neck in passing or something?
I thought it was to buy them time breaking his hands yeah I mean the mage guy would eventually get them healed but it still buys time for geralt to defeat the elves.
Lmao Francesca Findabair is an elder elf, much more powerful than Yen, in fact she made quick work of Yen in the books. This show keeps on shitting on the characters.
Maybe she is but yennefer was quicker on her feet and blasted her away before she could finish what she said. Besides this a bit of karma to her for what she did to those children last season and for trying to take ciri away from geralt.
One of the best choreographed fight scenes I've ever seen, and they were subtle with the use of signs. Two used within seconds creatively. I've not watched any of season 3 on the principle that they created enough issues that the man himself left the show. It's wild and crazy that this happened. The books are difficult, I did not enjoy much of what I read, but they could have crafted something, it's what they do.
I feel like if I had to choose between running to get my sword back (especially if it were his steel sword because he was fighting a human) and snapping Rience's neck...it wouldn't even be a choice. Would have still made it throught the portal in time.
The one thing you don’t do in this series when you see multiple bodies with sword wounds bigger than Cir’s sword can cause assume Geralt of RiviA is around
If nothing else the fact that Henry Cavill got to live action a fight scene taken almost directly from one of his favourite games is a wonder to me. And honestly it looked brilliant, blood and all.
"I beat you with my wits, now I'll beat you with my magic!" It took me a minute realize that the main guy is same f class mage who tortured Jaskier and almost had his face burned off by Yennefer last season.
"They had been attacked by a white-haired fiend, who had fallen on them from a wall, from a height that would have broken a normal man’s legs. It ought to have been impossible to land gently, whirl in an impossibly fast pirouette, and a split second later begin killing. But the white-haired fiend had done it. And the killing had begun. The Scoia’tael fought fiercely. They had the advantage, but they had no chance. A massacre was played out before Cahir’s eyes, wide with terror. The fair-haired girl, who had wounded him a moment earlier, had been fast, had been unbelievably lithe, had been like a mother cat defending her kittens. But the white-haired fiend who had fallen amongst the Scoia’tael was like a Zerrikan tiger. The fair-haired maid of Cintra, who for some unknown reason had not killed him, seemed insane. The white-haired fiend as not insane. He was calm and cold. And killed calmly and coldly. The Scoia’tael had no chance. Their corpses piled up on the slabs of the courtyard" Time of Contempt
Francesca Findahair, one of the most powerful sorceresses the world has ever seen, was almost one-shot killed by Yennifer. I guess in the setting of the show, Yennifer can outpower Vilgefort as well.
I don't think people that have only watched the show, know how easily he'd have slaughtered all of them if he wasn't trying to find Ciri, or if Ciri hadn't survived. Witchers of the School of the Wolf are the BEST swordsman out of all the Schools.
People who are saying how yen can defeat francesca so easily first of all she is most powerfull mage and second francesca was talking and yen surprisingly attacked her and gave no time to defend herself
Yennefer is not the most powerful mage. Tissaia, Francesca, Philippa and Vilgefortz are all stronger than her. Her pushing Francesca back here doesn't prove anything except that Francesca wasn't expecting it and Yen had quick reflexes. That's all.
I am glad that geralt massacred those "pointy eared princesses" just like ironfoot said in hobbit battle of five armies. These elves are far from being likeable.
The decisions these writers make boggles the mind. Geralt has dude dead to rights, but instead of taking him out, he just breaks his hands and then runs off.
🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ francesca told yennefer she is a traitor to her race and before she could finish talking yennefer shoved her with Magic. BEFORE FRANCESCA COULD EVEN DEFEND HERSELF.
@@nileverdeen3797in the show, yes, you’re absolutely right. But in the original novels, Francesca was already a powerful sorceress back when Yen was still a hunchback.
@@marcre7482nid is more powerful than yennefer. 1 she’s a pure blood elf so she’s automatically more gifted then yennefer also in the books she said that if Yen were to try and flee she would compress her into nothing something that made yen behave extremely well showing how scared she was, she helped found both the lodge of sorceress and brotherhood of sorcerers, the only people stronger than her magically are of course Ciri, Phillipa then tissaia yennefer would be next to her on the power list but there’s a big power gap. Yennefer has the potential to be stronger and in the games she probably is but not in the books
