I was playing this song on a louder speaker in my kitchen doing dishes when I looked over at my dad and noticed he was crying I asked what was wrong and he said this was his grandmothers favourite song and when she passed he listened to it all the time he also thought gee’s voice is beautiful and he covered this song magnificently

I actually really, really like this. There's emotion and character here. Is it pitch-perfect? No, and honestly, that's okay. I've heard so many versions of this song where the singers are so obviously trying to be technically perfect that they miss the emotion and story behind the lyrics. There's a "cry" in his voice that suits the song, and although it was apparently just a throw-away warm-up track, I think it works well as a cover.

as a singer with anxiety i still have a tendency to put all of my focus into hitting the exact notes, so no one can laugh at me for messing up. gerard way is my biggest musical inspiration. he's an incredible singer and delivers amazing live performances that aren't pitch-perfect. the way he effortlessly puts so much emotion into each line (which is the weird thing that makes you hang onto every word he sings, i think) made me realise that the vibe you're giving off as a musician is more important than never being slightly off-key.

I like the raspiness. It adds a natural sounding masculinity that goes with the ballad. It’s got a real Liverpool vibe. Love it.

This song always has, and always will remind me of Frerard. And that is thanks to the live show they did with it and the mentioning of guitars. It's hard not to think that Gerard covered this song and dedicated it to Frank. I'm not saying this is true, because it's most likely not. But either way it doesn't matter. People can ship whatever they want, as long as they don't overstep boundaries. Like for example, shoving it in Gerard, Lindsey, Frank, and/or Jamia's face's and constantly questioning them about it. We don't have to love Jamia and Lindsey, and we don't have to love their relationships with Gerard and Frank. We just have to be respectful and kind towards them. Maybe not pitch-perfect or much more than a warm-up exercise, but this version of the song... as a gay male, it resonates with me that much more since it's sung by a man and it's not clearly directed to a man or a woman. The emotion of this version really accentuates that, even if it's not technically perfect; I feel the pain of the speaker as he addresses his beloved, I feel that sense of romance and passion tempered with raw emotion. I'd gladly listen to this on a recording.
