Yes, me too. I know a little bit of modern Greek but I missed out on this and I regret it.

I can make the transcript if you like but it will cost you... xd really not really,

It would be also useful, in the transcription, to correct some (well, many, indeed) mistakes he made. Even if he was great in delivering a whole speech in ancient greek, there are some uses of tenses and moods which are not correct. He seems to over-rely on aorist, while we would often require an imperfect. Sometimes also he should have used perfect tense instead.

@@marcmini8428 you're so easy, man. You owe the Germans the money they owe you for looting your country. I guess that comes from that freedom you've denied me. XD Anyway, pronunciation feud is a sign of bad taste, and you deserve anything that is thrown at you. Usually, the people who complain about "proper" and "improper" pronunciation are the ones who can't put two words together in either Latin or Ancient Greek.

@@stanislavbudaev4564 well democracy is a bitch, corruption and populism destroys democracies, as happened with ancient Athens, or with our current government , or with Trump, or Brexit, or Italy's populists... at least we saved the state and didn t surrender to the first Putin! having said that, you really hate whatever is greek right? so why bother watching a video in ancient greek? and you seem to have a binary thinking, black or white. let me see ... racial discretion and binary thinking. guess what , this is exactly what slave societies are feeding their people. wishing you one day to transcend your sociology so you can love more and hate less...

@@marcmini8428 , Little dove, have you just come to this video to complain about the pronunciation? Do you scorn any foreigner speaking with an accent? How very polite and welcoming. I can just see the thousands of years of the great culture shine through you. I'm sorry to have offended you by calling you a Turk. You are clearly very upset. However, if you have any interest left in answering me, could you please ask yourself whether you really believe, that you speak the most refined and proper ATTIC or KOINE Greek? Not that post-black-colonels "people's" democratic let-us-ponder-to-the-common-low-brow-philistines free of grammar and effort vernacular jargon. XD I wish you the best, o free Hellen!

@@stanislavbudaev4564 dude chill, are you somewhere in the spectrum or something? take it how you need this , (and i don t care of how much of a purist you are or if you live in an academic bubble) but what I here in this video is greek letters being readed without ANY grammar rule applied. it is not the pronunciation, it is wrong reading! try to speak to a french while you read ALL of the letters in the writing. so it is ironic that you claim that κοινή is free of grammar! what i hear here is free from any grammar. and erasmus created this thing out of his head. what is this marxism applied to the linguistic kingdom? where the ideas are living in their own universe having nothing to do with reality? it is an artificial philological reconstruction so it was never used by anyone. if this is a science and not an academic exercise you must look for the only verified version which is modern greek. κάνε στον εαυτό σου την χάρη να μάθεις ελληνικά και τότε θα καταλάβεις την ερμηνευτική δύναμη τους στα αρχαία.

@@marcmini8428 cher amie, imagine the Italians calling their language Latin. Not neo-, not demotic. Latin. There is no "plus", there is only "piu". There's no "civitas", there's only "citta" etc. What would other peoples' reaction be? - Are you nuts?! Yours is barely comparable with the old one! It's just some Arabo-Greek-Norman-Germanic variation on the topic of Latin. Or imagine the French, oh my God! - "There's no "ille" there's but "il", there's no "hic" there's only "y", there's no "habet" there's only "a"! Yes, we do think that the Romans only wrote all those "b's" and "t's" for the show. They never pronounced them, I assure you. My aunt Yvonne from Nantes never says "habet", she only says "a", and that is exactly how Cicero did it!" People's Greek lacks a control group. What can you compare it against? Tsakonian? That's about it. And this lack of outside perspective on your language gives you that condescending attitude towards Koine or Attic. Your aunt Anastasia from Larissa isn't an authority on the 25 centuries' old matters. I'd agree that it may sound silly, though. It's like if someone were to read Old Church Slavonic Bible pronouncing all the lost nasal sounds, differences between long and short "e" etc. Nevertheless, after awhile I'd get used to it. Silliness is not an intrinsic characteristic of any particular activity, it's in your presuppositions. For me, as a native Russian speaker, Mandarin Chinese sounds like a constant flow of swear words of the lowest order. Yet I was old enough in the class not to act upon my adolescent urges. There's a video of a guy asking common Greeks if they would be able to understand Ancient Greek were they give the text. All of them said "no". Not "I'd understand half of it or 75%". 0%. It's another language. Yours is... Italian. Socrates's - Latin. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-B2fRTS8DZ8U.html
