@@JamesGallagher90 Indeed they are. I caught such an interview with a British interviewer, Michael Parkinson, talking to Fred Astaire yesterday. You're right. We won't see these kinds of interviews, interviewers or interviewees again: everything now lacks depth. At least not on TV. Now it's You Tube and podcasts that have filled that void. But is the Joe Rogan Experience, an adequate replacement? I think not.

Great days! What an amazing statement by Greer, that woman shouldn't aspire to be men because of their flaws, with which I concur. This is now one of the very reasons she has become 'de-platformed' by certain groups & institutions, which would have, in the past, been vociferous supporters of her. Not only do they think they can & should be allowed to be whatever they want, but then rather than extending that very same freedom to everyone, they want to restrict Greer from even having an opinion - this is the mess we're in. HELP Germaine!!!

I'm surprised David Susskind was such a misogynist. I thought he was a liberal. Of course at this time it was a very typical male attitude. This happened a long time ago, and I was rather young. There was time to ponder things slowly, now you can't ponder hardly at all, everything happens at once. It's actually maddening.

I worked with Mr. Susskind for many many years. He us a veey brilliant man and i can tell you he was holding back from telling her off. He disliked her very much for the things she said. He had read her book twice only because he could call her out on the vile things she said and could almost tell you the page it was on! But he did not want to debate or bring attention to her book

The book 'The female Enunuch'. It is old and easily available on a quick google search of the title + pdf. If you cntrl+F for those keywords she clearly said those things in her book. Debate over.

When 'Open End' left the air well... what a loss... loved Susskind's manner, , LOVED his manner. Read with relish all of Greer; Marilyn French; Kate Millett.... subscribed to Ms. I had to educate myself just to catch up to the very impressive prose being offered up on various platforms. Never found fault with life as a girl, then woman as I encountered men. Education on Women's Studies can be done in anyone's spare time via reading across two or three shelves in the library. I believe there are college courses on the condition of women , past and how we arrived at the present advanced state of things for her. I would guess the college class is filled with rage and contempt, hatred and Angry rhetoric on men. And the professors are paid well to spout nothing that elevates the mind of students. Paid to encourage the development of writing their own rage. Instead of four months spent in that fashion the student could speedily get all she needs to have 'aha' moments over and over by being given a list of feminist authors. (this is a partial rant.. must go now)l

Germaine Greer was most unfairly criticised by her detractors who mischaracterised her as some kind of man-hating extreme left, ultra feminist loony. In fact, she was an extremely good writer who expressed herself with great articulacy - and usually very good humour - when speaking in public. She even wrote hilarious satirical material for Private Eye, one of the UK’s leading satirical magazines which was run by an old boy’s network of men with whom she seemed to have very little in common apart from her ability to verbally duel brilliantly and her enjoyment of good company and excellent wines. An overall very good sport.

I like Germaine Greer. A feminist she may be, but she's not of the 'herdthink' that seems to dominate the majority. This woman thinks for herself.

If only Greer realized she could accuse any man of sexual harassment without proof and have him removed from public life overnight her goals of equality and in fact triumphalism would have happened much more rapidly.
