for anyone who does this in the future, do not waste all your energy on that first lap down like every single one of these soldiers did. find a comfortable pace and maintain it. i've seen so many people fail because they got too tired.
Troy M true statement. I didn’t actually train for the entire GAFPB so I was giving it all I had to stay in the fight! Felt like I was drowning a good amount of the time!!! Great point thi
Well done, it was slightly different when I had to do it, it wasn't in a team setting and we had to be certified for it by an independent lifeguard (they proctored and timed the tests), and it was not required to have the uniform on just any type of long-sleeved clothing...
Pokebreaker good luck to you! Pump me up. That swim test was much tougher than anticipated, but I️t feels amazing to finally have it under your belt! You got this!
That portion of the event isn’t timed. Only the 100m is timed and it’s 4 minutes. Doesn’t matter if she took 20 minutes to get her uniform out 🤷🏻♂️. She did a hell of a job, I hope to get this done on Sunday, thanks for the motivation!
It wasnt like this for me, they had the same length pool (25 M) but we had to swim half way back (which was also timed within the 4 minutes) then you had to take the uniform off. (Not timed) My advice to you is train your breathing, and work on leg strength. You'll need it.
@@reellifewithlove4411 Thanks. I just have to give it my all like you did and I'll be fine. :-) I am from California. What about you? Where are you from??
IM GOIN FOR IT TOMORROW!! I DID THE PISTOL SHOOT EARLIER TONIGHT AND ONLY FOR 4 OUT OF 5 ON THE TARGETS. IM DREADING THE SWIM BUT IMMA KNOCK IT OUT IN THE MORNIN! WE'LL SEE HOW I DO.
I ended up gettin the silver! On the 1st day we shot pistols and u had to get 5/5 to get gold. I shot 4/5 so I got silver. Every other event that I could’ve gotten gold in, I did.
It was just shoot and go! I’m realizing that there were different kinds, my sister competed and they had a weight lifting portion. So I guess they had different variations.
When I did mine (many years ago), you are taught how to field strip the HK, put it back together, load up and shoot, but there was no time limit. I hear the experience varies slightly depending on what German army unit hosts it...
Cornelius G. She should have...I saw someone tried to No-Go her; but if they didn’t want her to touch the lip to grab the pants they should’ve thrown it back-like w/ the blouse
I passed! It was no joke... they stop the time once the swim is complete, but you can’t hold on to the edge of the pool, and the clothing has to go all the way out of the pool!
Must be nice, we have to swim at a 4,4”-5’0 pool. Good luck treading this. Also you gotta be 6feet or more away from the edge of the pool to throw your uniform.
I found out about this on a Wed and killed it on a Sat! I was using whatever technique I could to get down and back!! Lol! I was the ammo person so my Sergeant Major wanted to “reward” me for pulling some strings to get the ammo last minute bc some one else forgot to order it! I wasn’t even aware of all the events! 😅😅😅😅
