German Army Fallschirmjäger (Paratroopers) from the Bundeswehr Division Schnelle Kräfte (DSK) in english Rapid Forces Division storm a village with Support of Dutch soldiers during intense urban combat training at GREEN GRIFFIN 21.
GREEN GRIFFIN 21 was a multinational combat training exercise conducted to increase the scale, capability and interoperability of NATO allies and partner forces. The training involved elements from the U.S. Army 12th Combat Aviation Brigade, the German Bundeswehr, the Netherlands Air Force and Romanian Army Mechanized Brigade.
The Division Schnelle Kräfte (Rapid Forces Division) formerly Division Spezielle Operationen (Special Operations Division) is an airborne division of the German Army. Its headquarters staff is based at Stadtallendorf. It was created as 1st Airborne Division (1. Luftlandedivision) in 1956 and reflagged twice in 1994 and 2001 as Airmobile Forces Command/4th Division (Kommando Luftbewegliche Kräfte/4. Division), Special Operations Division and eventually Rapid Forces Division. The division leads three combat brigades and special forces troops, all of which are fully air-mobile. In June 2014, the Dutch 11 Airmobile Brigade was fully integrated into the division as part of the binational military cooperation between Germany and the Netherlands and in 2017 the Romanian 81st Mechanized Brigade followed suit.

It's called "(Green) Griffin", the bi-annual exercise of the DSK (Division schnelle Kräfte - Rapid Forces Division). The Dutch 11th Airmobile Brigade is an integral part of the Division and the Division has a partnership with the Romanian 81st Mechanized Brigade. Fourth partner in the exercise is the US 12th Combat Aviation Brigade, based in Germany. Boots on the ground are mostly German, than Dutch, one company from Romania. Helicopters: German 4 NH-90 and 2 CH-53, Dutch: 3 CH-47 and 5 AH-64, US: 2 CH-47, 2 HH-60, 4 AH-64. In addition participates a Dutch C-130, 4 German UH Tigers and German armoured infantry in special phases of the exercise (ATF VJTF 2023)

Fallschirmjäger is just the German term for any paratrooper. "Amerikanische Fallschirmjäger landeten in Frankreich" .. "American paratroopers landed in France". There's no special traditional or historical attachment to it, there are the paratroopers of the Wehrmacht, the GDR had some, and the Bundeswehr has soldiers that jump out of planes. Why don't foreigners understand that? Yeah, they all spoke German. That's it.

MG4 is neither new nor is it ever supplied in a tan color. There are multiple reasons for tan weapons though.

The MG4A3 is tan, and the MG5(essentially an MG4) is tan. 3, Obviously there are reasons for it being tan, but firearms should not come from the factory in that color. Now we have Germans running through forests with tan LMG's, and Americans running around northern woods with tan SCAR's. When a country adopts a gun in tan, they are predicting a conflict in a very specific AO. You can paint a gun tan. You can camouflage your weapon with burlap, and other type of wrap(even ACE wrap). But you cannot paint a gun black, and it is significantly more difficult to camo it up. They look awful as well. Imagine seeing Marines in their woodland MARPAT uniforms in garrison, but they are holding tan rifles. It would look terrible.

Jäger is the traditional name for light infantry in Germany. That's been the case since the 1600's, nothing to do with the third reich, they just didn't change it. Panzergrenadiere are also still a thing. The function is just added. Jäger are "plain" infantry Fallschirmjäger are paratroopers (air assault mostly, nowadays) Gebirgsjäger are mountain troops Feldjäger are military police - atho not part of the fighting troops

$100 says those helicopters are NOT part of the Bundeswehr, but are 'on loan' for the exercise from the US Army and are being flown and maintained by US forces in Germany. Apparently Germany's military budget problems have become so severe that they no longer have any naval vessels that are seaworthy and almost all of their tanks and helicopters are in the shop, unable to function. For years, German special forces have been loudly complaining about the state of total unreadiness of the regular forces, and it was a source of deep embarassment to them during German deployments to Afghanistan. I would love to hear a professional perspective on this video. Do these guys look physically and mentally ready should they be called upon for actual deployment and engagement?

Germany doesn't operate Chinook helicopters. Yes, those are most likely American. The reason why German paratroopers are transported by American helicopters in this case seems to be that it is not just German paratroopers. There are many different uniforms from many different armies in this video. So at least in this case, I think it is more a organizational NATO thing than Germany not having their own vehicles. For example, the chubby guy at 0:19 is definitely not wearing a German uniform. I don't know where he is from. The helicopters shown at the end of the video are German NH90 models. Yes, there are many issues with the Bundeswehr due to a lack of funding, but it isn't THAT bad. They are just in the process of replacing their Marder IFVs with the Puma successor, they have grown their Main Battle Tank force again and brought all their Leopard 2 up to A6 or A7 standard and they are in the process of buying new heavy CH-53K King Stallion helicopters. And most of the bad news about submarines and other navy vessels needing repairs and not being operational are making the rounds in the internet for years, but are outdated. I think it was in 2012 when all the submarines were grounded for a lack of spare parts, but those issues have been resolved since, as far as I know.

@@TrangleC dutch helicopters, this is an combined excercise with dutch and german troops. Propably more NATO troops involved aswell.

@@EnoxxEU you didnt see apaches in the vídeo... You save tiger helis, german ones... You also didnt Saw American helis, those where nh90, german ones.
