It's a pleasure to watch yur vids. I need the motivation that brush painting is ok, no need to be perfect, just enjoy to make scale modeling. Thanks Gary. And please submit my regards to the most beautiful city in the world, my favourite London which beats NY by far, even can't compare. Some says, now it isn't the same old London you lived in. I dunno. Also missed my brethren on 60 Great Queen street Hall. Thanks again Gary. Yur not walking alone.
As ever Gary, sharing your mistakes is priceless - helps me to stop beating myself up for not being perfect (especially as I'm only a few kits in since coming back to the hobby)
It was when I was standing next to the real one at Cosford that I realised. I thought, "those wheels look odd." Then remembered the wheels on my kit didn't look as odd. Then Airfix said they were releasing a brand new Me410. Marra, it was just one of those days....
A pretty decent model despite some bugbears to overcome and I would park it with the new Airfix model on my display shelf after building both. Also, I would move the rear-facing seat closer to its instrument panel, it is too far away as is, I think Gary. A good pair of aircrew seated inside would help draw attention away from the rather sparse cockpit sidewalls, or maybe add some greeblies there. 😊
Lovely job, as usual! Maybe some day you could do a comparison with the new Airfix release to see how they stack up. And good, honest job acknowledging your little wheel mishap! You corrected it very well :) Have a lovely evening!
Nice build Gary 😊.....have both Italeri 's 210 & 410 in the stash for ages....have to be build some day🤔😊......but just have to buy Airfix's new kit🙄😄😄.....Cheers 🍻🍻
Quite a nice kit but I guess it’s showing its age. Well done for “fessing up” (I think that’s what the young people say!) about your slip up. I think we’ve all been there. Looking forward to the Airfix build.
Join the club. You've just reminded me of the time I put the undercarriage of a Tempest on back to front! Doh! Late at night, attention wandering - all too easily done.
We have all done it Gary 😄as you say a few little issues but l would hazard a guess that it's the age of the kit in the end, it's got the look and it's must have whetted your appetite for the Airfix one 👍
Exactly - it isn't really fair to have a direct comparison without taking plenty into account, not least of which is the huge advance in technology since the Italeri kit was made. If the Airfix kit didn't exist it would be a nice enough little model. Haven't finished the Airfix one yet but it looks good so far...
Hi Gary. The fit of parts isn't very good. Its disappointing that, given the detail in the drivers cockpit, the air gunners is so sparse. What did he use to aim those guns? Pity Italeri didn't do a bit better in that regard. I notice the paint colour on the WG21 rocket tubes is different, and a splodge of darker on the outside (left wing outer tube in the "however" bit)? When I critised the canopy split in the "openning vid", I missed that the split was on a frame line. Thats better. I have noticed in some of your other bids that some kits come with a "build jig" to get something right. Perhaps that canopy would have benefitted from one.
The tubes I did as a different colour out of devilment assuming they came from stock rather than necessarily being colour matched, although the teutonic character might have insisted otherwise even in the mid-40s. Splodge of dark stuff may be an accidental contact from the panel line washing.
