Two new videos have captured the destruction of German-made Leopard main battle tanks in the Zaporizhzhia region, where fierce battles are ensuing between Russian and Ukrainian troop in recent weeks. The videos released by war monitoring channels and re-shared by RT News reveal how the Ukrainian tanks turned fireball after a dual attack by Russian drone and artillery. @@snyderdad771 certainly makes sense, I guess it is just a bit surprising to see how effective artillery can be with modern targeting systems, drone reconaissance, etc. Before the Russo-Ukrainian war I don't think many people would have expected this, since a vehicle is quite a small target for artillery. Of course, I am referring to standard artillery rounds here, it was obvious that the guided/smart rounds could do that, but those are expensive and not very numerous.

That isn´t true.... let me say it like this... some people ASK if some weapon systems are game changers. I have seen Ruschists claim that the west claims they are game changers... but I can´t find the claims in western media. For example Kiev Independent ASKS: Could F-16 be a game changer... that is a question, not a claim. The second thing, if we want to discuss reality, is what game changer MEANS. For some (usually those who want to belittle Ukraine) try to explain it as ONE system that decides the outcome or even end of the war. Well let me tell you, there is ONE weapon system that is a game changer - the nuclear bomb. But that could change a war in an unpredictable way. In common discussing a "game changer" is a weapon that allows a certain advance or move (and without it, the move was not possible). So in this definition, the anti-tank weapons were game- changers. Russia came to take Kiev, and COULD have done it, if Ukraine did not have anti-tank weapons. (but again, it didn´t end the war). Western artillery and Himars were a game changer as it allowed Ukrainians to push Russia out of Izum and Kherson. So all of the above systems were able to change a PART of the outcome of the war. The Russian mobilization of 300.000 more people were a game changer, because without it, Russia would have lost more of occupied land in Ukraine.

If I sat on top of a tank, I could probably hear it coming, then be able to take some shots at it, so a computer should be able to do this much faster and more accurately.

I wouldn't think those quadcopter kamikaze would do anything to a MBT. I normally see those used on light trucks and infantry, not armor. Usually the Lancet is used on tanks since it has a shaped charge that can penetrate a tank especially from the top.

I believe that they use RPG7 grenades without rocketboosters, the most common antitank one could punch through 300mm, not enough to take on frontal armor but good enough for the rear, sides or above.

Looks to me like the ammunition is cooking off in the stowage external to the turret with the panels blowing out as they are meant to, meaning most of these vehicles are likely repairable.

This only worked with armor-piercing shells. When high-explosive ammunition began to be used, the armor flap stopped working. This is clearly seen in the video when the drone crashes into the rear of the tower, and the fire bursts out of the hatches.
