This is also incorrect. Ranks "Master Sergeant" and "Sergeant First Class" do not exist. This is likely due to an Americanism. Zu meiner Zeit, war Soldat, Kanonier, Schütze,im amerikanischen einfach ein GI,ein Gefreiter=Private, Obergefreiter =Private first class, Hauptgefreiter =Corporal, Stabs-und Oberstabsgefreiter gab es nicht, Unteroffizier =Sgt.,Stabsunteroffizier = Staffsergant usw. Die Dienstgrade der Warrend-Offiziere entspricht in deutschen den Fachoffizieren, daß heißt aus den Feldwebel Rängen, hochgedienten Spezialisten, Warrendoffizier I,Leutnant, WO.II.=Oberleutnant, WO.III =Hauptmann. Mein Schwager (Brother in Law) war zu dieser Zeit U.S.Soldat und hatte diese Laufbahn eingeschlagen. Aber vielleicht hat sich in über 40Jahren das alles geändert, daß kann ich nicht Beurteilen. Danke
@@christopherwood9009 The video "translated" the German ranks into US ranks as per NATO rank code: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/NATO-Rangcode Some errors are still there though, like "Hauptgefreiter" which should translate to "Corporal" as per NATO rank code.
Nice video , sadly not fully right . That have 2 reasons: first is the date of the video i guess. - New ranks between the " Oberstaabsgefreiter " and " Unteroffizier " got set called " Korporal " and " StaabsKorporal " - The Military ranked system of , for example germany , got different levels of command. For example " Chief warant officer " and the complete order of that rank doenst exist in the german army by default. so its less a mistake then just a different build up !
I disagree with translating Corporal to Oberstabsgefreiter. I would rather say Corporal = Unteroffizier. And Stabsunteroffizier would thus be something like Staff Corporal. Sergeant = Feldwebel. Staff Sergeant = Stabsfeldwebel. With the Navy: Fähnrich = Ensign.
what would you translate it to then? The OSG is equivalent to a Corporal according to the NATO rank system (OR-4), and often carries the same or similar responsibilities/positions a Corporal would have. It fits quite well IMO
