German Palatines
The German Palatines were early 18th century emigrants from the Middle Rhine region of the Holy Roman Empire, including a minority from the Palatinate which gave its name to the entire group.Towards the end of the 17th century and into the 18th, the wealthy region was repeatedly invaded by French troops, which resulted in continuous military requisitions, widespread devastation and famine.

My ancestors were from the Palatines and came to Pennsylvania in 1727 and bought a farm near German Town. My ancestor fought with the Pennsylvania Militia in the Revolutionary War. They were German reformed.

My family names are Beringer(Barringer) Herche(Harkey), Ridenhour and Carlock. Arrived Philadelphia Berks county and later settled in North Carolina(Carbarrus county)

My Naugle/Nagle/Nagel family sailed to the Port of Philadelphia in 1738 after leaving Koblenz, Germany. Ended up settling in Berks Co., PA and served as a Colonel and Captain in the Revolutionary War alongside George Washington and even entertained him for dinner at the Nagel household in Reading, PA in 1794.

My wife’s ancestors-are palatine Germans in Herkimer county New York they took up arms against the English during the revolution, many died both militia and woman and children, many still reside in the Mohawk valley and have a reunion at the family church at snells bush New York❤

Question..some of my ancestors were also from Baden-Wuutemberg area.. They went from PA to WVA. I learned from a ydna test/other data that originally they were Sephardic Jews, and possibly crypto Jews. Their last name when coming here was Mallo, but they spoke German and helped found Lutheran churches. Ive also come across a few other clues, such as frequent intermarrying within local families in VA/WVA, and even a picture of my grandmother's ggg uncle with what looks like a Jewish Kippah on his head. My family also has somewhat of a darker complexion. Do you have any information on any Jewish / crypto Jew roots in Germany? Thanks!
