I wouldn't be surprised if this could happen in any other country apart from New Zealand and Australia. It's part of our culture to check out someone as a way of paying them a compliment. Not only do I have hundreds of cousins, but I'm the youngest of 8 children. 6 girls, 2 boys with 1 set to twins. No, we're not Catholics. Mum had problems with medication. It always had twice the normal effect on her, so the doctor advised her not to take the pill. My dad refused to do anything. I was their little surprise package. Mum was 44 when I was born. My 2 eldest sisters were married and having kids. There was a 23-year age gap between the eldest and I. Anyway, I hadn't seen my eldest sister's grandson since he was an infant when his family moved to New Zealand. He came back to Australia when he was 18, and he checked me out a couple of times. Even though I'm his great aunty. I was in my late 30s at the time. Yes, it felt a bit strange.

Most of my friends and family call me Riss. One time, I was visiting my cousin, Steve, and his wife in Sydney. They don't have any kids, so they're used to it being just the two of them at home. So he quite often doesn't bother closing the bathroom door just after he wakes up in the morning. One morning, his wife called out the following. "Hey Riss, check out Steve's butt!" (I'm not sure how awake she was at the time). I remember laying in bed thinking to myself. "Why on Earth would I want to do that." One last comment.

This was really funny…& more clever than some of their other stuff.

I live in a suburb in Australia that has a big Lebanese population - Islamic and Marionite Catholic. I'm not sure if this pertains to both or one only but girls are sent back to Lebanon, under family duress, to have arranged marriages, sometimes with cousin and then come back as a couple. The Federal Government has now cracked down on this coercion with new laws and penalties including incarceration.

I've definitely never been attracted to any of my many cousins. At least while knowing we were related. Dad was one of at least 9 kids. So, was my grandfather on mum's side of the family. So there's a lot of them. Although it is legal to marry your first cousin in Australia. First and third .... Queen Victoria was still reigning when they were making the arrangements for our federation. She was married to her cousin. My childhood best friend married her first cousin. But like the majority of Aussies, I couldn't stomach the idea. You said you liked my stories in your last video. I'm starting another comment.
