Not mentioned, the German WW2 M39 or Eierhandgranate 39. Kind of in-between as it still used a pull cord, but had that familiar egg shape body that reminds me of the post-war US M26 grenade.
The mushroom grenade the nickname to the german grenade was like a pipe with the grenade on top. Awkward heavy, you had to unscrew the bottom pull string throw and hope allies dont have time to throw it back. American grenade lighter just pull pin throw boom.
The mark 2 grenade is better for Bobby traps because it worked as a landmine you pull the pin set something on top of is most likely food or ammunition and when someone picked it up then in 3-5 seconds it would explode.
