The orange urine, the white gums. I remember how awful to receive this diagnosis. I remember two transfusions. Ours was a young Basenji who was saved by a young doc who gave it everything he had. He was so happy to not lose one more. She lived another 16 years, passing at 17.5.

Same thing happened to my friend's 11 year old Border Collie. One day he was fine, the next on death's door. Diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, cause unknown. He lived for another 6 weeks after initial diagnosis then collapsed and had to be PTS as there was no more the vets could do for him. My friend and his wife were heartbroken. That was about 3 years ago. They have another dog now.
Tbh there’s never a known cause for autoimmune diseases, it’s most likely genetics, so just remember there’s not a lot we can do sometimes. It’s the shitty part of medicine that affects us all
True Rip Bohdi i also lost a puppy a year ago its really heartbreaking when your pet gives you the best memories you could ever have but then they become a memory..
You know seeing Bodie nearly die and then hearing that he didn’t make it was terrible and that made my heart sink. I wonder what was happening inside his body.😔💗

I have no doubt that the doctors at Bondi Vet did everything they could for Dodie. The doctors at Bondi put their heart and soul into taking care of animals. So Rest in Peace he knows he was loved by his family and the doctor who worked like heck to save him. I'm ending in tears. 🙏
I'm sure the family is feeling it, but I also feel for the vet. Not knowing what's hurting your patient and having that kind of outcome must be tough. With certain diseases, we know we can't reverse it and we can only make them comfortable... but if we don't know, it's even harder to process. All the love to everyone involved
Ohhhh nooooo...a beautiful creature succumbs to an unidentified entity. I loved Bodie, too. At the very least, he was able to spend some time with those he loved and loved him. Crying...
RIP Bodhi, I have commented previously that this happened to my daughters dog Aspen 6 months ago, and we thank the vets and staff at Southpaws vet hospital Melbourne for saving her life. But only this week Aspen being immune deficient had a relapse, and we thank the vets and staff at Beach Street veterinary Clinic Frankston for again keeping Aspen alive, and their fantastic ongoing care. 🐶
My heart goes out to Bohdi's family. I thought he was going to be ok after leaving the hospital. My nephew has something similar and is in the hospital being only 4 months old. ❤❤
@Lizbeth Merino Living with autoimmune disease is not easy for either the patient or the family. I hope the Drs know or find what what is the cause of your nephews illness. Take care of yourselves during this really hard time too. best wishes to you all. 🙏
This is exactly what my black lab had… ITP… He is in remission for this auto immune disease however he developed a skin auto immune disease thank goodness he is still with me
I watched this on another Bondi Vet episode. As soon as I saw that gorgeous German Shepherd, I remember the story of what happened and my heart broke all over again. What a sweet, sweet boy. He didn't deserve this. 😢

What sad news for the children and the owners, may Body RIP and all my thoughts and prayers go to their family and to people who knew Body breaks my heart. Why is it that the dogs that want live do not and those dogs that do not want to live they stay alive. Body really has pulled on my heart strings and I am in tears. RIP BODY.

Videos and stories like this get me everytime! Sitting here with tears in my eyes! I've seen people die right in front of me and in my arms also and there's no real reaction. But let something happen to an animal and the tears flow! Sad video RIP Bode🥺🥺😢🥺🥺
What a beautiful Alsatian he is and he is so beautiful and I love his beautiful sad eyes as if to say I am a fighter and Body is so scared, frightening, upset and hurting I. Side of him.
What a sweet amazing dog! It's tragic that there was really nothing that could be done to save him the second time. It was very saddening for me, because this dog and his friend who loved him, were so sweet!
We lost our last beagle to autoimmune disease. She did have a slight remission, but eventually succumbed. It's heartbreaking to see your beloved pet get so sick so fast, try so hard to fight it, yet lose the battle. I know our vet gave it his all, and you could tell this vet did everything she could. 🙏🙏🙏 for Bondi Vets and Brody's family. Brody is in a better place waiting for you!
Bohdi crossed over the Rainbow Bridge knowing that his family and SASH did everything they could to improve his last 3 weeks on Earth. Rest in the arms of the angels, Bohdi - you will be missed🥀
Were you ever able to do an autopsy on this dog to try to figure out what caused his death? It's wonderful that he had a happy last few weeks with his family, but devastating for them in the end.
My baby boy Theo passed away on the 9 July this year he was 7 with the same as Brodie it’s heartbreaking 💔 and there is nothing the vets can do to help apart from trying to keep them comfortable 😢😢 your over the rainbow 🌈 Brodie with all the wonderful babies before you,having a wonderful time x x x 🐶🐶❤️
Thank you for saving Bondi because Bodi was fading and you shined light on him which helped him rise abouve the darkness into the light but sadly he was pushed back down but you did everything you could and you gave him love so he lived a happy life Rest In Peace Bodi
Aww.😞 Run freeee Bodie!!!😭 My dog had a similar experience. But unlike Bodie, mine had low platelet and high wbc. She also had pain somewhere on her rear. After going home feeling better, she would relapse every now and then. Hence, we had been in and out of the vets for sometime. Vets had to run a lot of tests only to have negative results. I became hopeless since they could not diagnose my dog's illness. Fortunately, we had her check with a different vet and finally discovered that the reason why she was always sick was due to spinal compression. With some prednisone and calcium supplements, she is doing better now.😁😁😁 Sorry for my very long sharing.🤣😂😅
My German shepherd has this. It affected her feet. Had claws taken off during op. Now she takes onychotin tablets and yuderm itchy dog liquid with her dinner x
@@benjaminshiffman8734 If your dog is continuously having paw and claw related issues, he may have a condition known as lupoid onychodystrophy. It is an immune-mediated condition that affects your dog's nails and paws. It is considered a type of lupus your dog can suffer from and therefore cannot be passed on to other animals or to humans.
My Nova Scotia duck toller had an auto immune attack on his red blood cells which showed up as bruising all over her body. She was in intensive care for a week getting a dog to dog blood transfusion, on prednisone, and blockers.. She was on these and other drugs for months. She survived and lived another 5 happy years to the age of 13. her vet said that she was never to get any vaccines again. We think that is what caused the attack. too much for her. it had included tick medication. She developed melanoma on her nose and she let us know when it was time she wanted to go. We made quick arrangements and she passed away peacefully with the help of our vet safe in our car in the middle of a snow storm. So kind of them to agree to it and brave the stormy weather in cramped spaces in our van. It was peaceful and felt so right. Love to Ginger
Rest in Strength and Love Brohdie. It was heart breaking to hear Brohdie did not survive his relapse but at the same time it would have been devastating to think of him and his loving Family having to relive this battle just to go thru it again. I believe he fought a courageous battle to be with his family for 3 weeks filled with love and Joy and when his time came to cross 'The Rainbow Bridge" he did so fearlessly with his head Herald high.
