Our family dog of 18 years, a female GS, also didn’t make it through training bc she just wanted to become everyone’s friend. More than 30 years since she died and I’ll always love her. No wonder “failed” service dog adoption wait lists are years long.
Get another if you can....! I'm on #5, I Don't wanna be without dogs. I have 2 now. You know, A Lot of work. No freedom, but the love n reward is worth the sacrifice..
I got a welcome like that off my Husky after I spent a week in hospital, she had stayed with neighbours and when they brought her back home she paused in the doorway as Benson did then went mental, before that she always cried when I had to leave her, after that she never bothered [rescue dog]
GSD's are the best. My girl Heidi is 7 years old and has been a loving gift from God to our family. I crack up watching her herd our grandchildren. She is so smart they don't even know she is doing it. She has enriched our lives to the fullest.
My current German Shedder Dog is a Sable as was the previous. Both are pretty chill, but when they get super happy like this, one has to be careful as that head is solid AF and next muscles are strong and fast AF. I've had one broken nose, a busted tooth, and broken glasses over the years. Entirely my fault, but its hard to refrain from embracing the love and happiness.
In the 60's that GS joy was referred to as a "spaz-attack". My young GS mix did the same thing whenever I came home after work, she acted as though I'd been gone for months.
