The video might appear boring but this is the stuff you have to do with the puppies to get them squared away. Two of my problems with my 4month male GS is training too long and expecting too much too quick. I really liked utilizing the fence also

Two of the best aspects of this older now video is that the training doesn't change and that it's realistic timing. Training takes time and diligence and consistency.

Just an observation. Having both hand and verbal commands can really be a benefit. If you are in a very noisy area, you can default to a hand signal. Or if the dog is a distance away, a quick nic on the ecollar for attention, then a hand signal can be life saving. I did this many times when my dogs would be in a field and say an ATV was flying around. A quick nic for them to check in, an exaggerated “come” or “down” hand signal and everything was good. Or if the dog is flying at you and there is a car coming, a quick nic for attention and a “down” hand signal can stop them in their tracks. I always work both to keep the response consistent.

Hand signals are better than voice. My dog is deaf now and she cannot hear my commands!!

The rest of Hadley’s videos are private 😟 I have 2 German shepherd puppies I saved from an abusive owner and I’m trying to train them! I can’t get them to stop jumping and I need more videos?! Please 🙏 I’m desperate at this point! Also potty training?!

Thank you for the Hadley series. I have a 5m/o GSD and these videos are really helping me understand what a training session should look like. I've been trying to use voice commands and hand commands at the same time. I've also been too focused on only one act (sit or down) at a time, whereas now I understand the importance of incorporating all kinds of things in each session for the reward/marker opportunities as well as keeping her engaged. I feel more confident going into this adventure with my new girl.

Great genetics dog is an Ace you are stellar my good friend trained in Saigon for the Air base protection dogs he later trained Police dogs for the K-9 units retired to train Shepards once again you both are amazing to me Sir keep up the great job 👏
