He seems to immediately understand that these tiny things need protecting and watching over. I can tell he takes the responsibility seriously, in true Shepherd fashion.
Well that is easy to him since they were born in his house. He surely thinks those are either a flock to protect or they are weird looking puppies 😅 The owners did the exact right thing with him introducing to them
@@GHOULY782 And what does that have to do with it? Our dogs (yes I am german) are great but others are too..And I don't wanna know where this dog is from, surely not from a breeder from germany.
@@lisap2405 the breed is named German Shepard because that is where the breed came from its not a joke or gag on Germans its just the name of this dogs breed
@@leonl9123lol nope even these tiny creatures have the natural instinct to not expose their tender bellies to a potential threat. They were submitting to him because they knew he was safe.
@@Sherelle86 It was obviousely a joke. I have 2 german shepards myself, they are intelligent enough to understand who is part of the family and who isn't.
@@chickenwings6172 In the vocabulary of true animal lovers "buriful" is just a buriful word. And it's now actually 394 likes. Get with the program Chickenhead! 😂😂😂
My brothers girlfriend brought a tiny rabbit home one day. It was barely past newborn, was tiny probably less than two weeks old, she called it Ralph. She was only 17, she fell in love with that rabbit, and one night I was playing PC games at 2am and my brother came into my room and sat down with his head in hands. "I've just stepped on Ralph, getting out of bed. It's dead.". Trouble is, it's dark at night, and Ralph was black. I told him to lie about it, tell her he set it free. But he didn't he told her the truth. Ralph got splatted. She forgave him eventually. Then they got a dog.
@@nbgoodiscore1303 I admit I was worried as I watched it. It was a risk I probably wouldn't personally have taken, but in the end it turned out well thankfully.
Rocky's such a good dog. Well raised. No aggressiveness at all. Could have just barked sternly and scared away the kittens. Didn't even do that. :) Well done guys.
There is this Hägar the Horrible comic where Hägar asks a man "What breed is that dog?" and the man answered "That is a nice dog." Hägar then says "Well when I think about it that is the best breed there is"
He was like "what are you doing over there? Please do not go under that furniture. Please come over here with the others so I can watch over you too.! German shepherd are smart alongside labradors
That’s so amazing, he was extremely aware of the fragility of those little furballs and made sure that he didn’t hurt them accidentally. I loved that they kept pawing around at his nose and even when he wasn’t even close! Just little arms and legs, or just legs and legs, all floundering about in his dog bed. And here’s what really strikes me, anytime you buy your pet a bed or a place for them to sleep in, they Never do! But, should another creature take it, well now they want it! Like a child that grew tired of a certain toy, but as soon as another child is to play with it, they immediately find a renewed interest! So adorable those guys! What an excellent family they will be!! 🥰🥰🥰
haha my fam has that exact situation. they have 2 twin cats about 7yrs now, anda kitten thats 4months. they have ZERO interest in playing w toy, unless the kitten is interested... all of the sudden, they want to play. Even get jealous. 😅
They are cats, they fear nothing. We've had kittens not even 24 hours old attack our dogs. Blind as a bat and can barely move but already no f**ks were given.
@Eric Chatham how is that what you are thinking off? It is a dog not some guardian off the weaker animals. The kittens got lucky that the dog did not eat them for whatever reason.
@@aeron8293 no they are bred to protect their hometurf. They are bred to attack intruders. Do you seriously not watch your dog? Just put a chicken or something in front of it and see how long it takes your dog to absolutely dismemberr it.
@@issaciams No its not a puppy but some people call any dog a puppy. They know its not a puppy but its used as a term of affection Im guessing. Kinda like how adults call their partners baby.
It's an interesting study on how a family dog sorts through a heterachy of competing values: On the one hand, he loves and is habituated to lie in his own bed. On the other, he is a faithful member of his pack and instinctively recognizes his role as protector of the pack's most vulnerable members. In laudable fashion, he chooses the higher value of protection. Good dog!
Woa there Petterson sounding person. What you didnt realise was that that dog is very high in consciousness, openness and most importantly, fluffyness.
People were aware of this since the dog was domesticated. Its thee reason why we kept them around in the first place. Dogs are inherently flock animals. It’s only natural you’d protect your flock and offspring.
@TofuGuru Hierarchy basically means how a group is structured when it comes to authority, like how in sales, leadership typically goes: Sales Associate > Assistant Manager > Manager > District Manager. That kind of thing. As for laudable, that just means someone or something that is deserving of praise/admiration. Hope this helped! 🙃
This is too cute. We lost our own German Shep a couple of weeks ago and she was just as gentle and caring around our cats when they were wee ones. Made me shed a tear watching this, its amazing
Confused only what their sounds mean. He's wondering whether they are fine or he needs to do something because anything is missing like too cold or too warm or hungry or whatever 😅
@@nickb839 No one said that he didn't show affection. Still he was more worried about them being well (since meoeing is not what he understands) and no one leaving. And buddy, please let that "they're called dogs for a reason" be. Almost every animal can show affection and be protecting and loving. One is more obvious to humans and one is less obvious. Some people just have that thought in mind that dogs are the sweetest. Doesn't always fit and an affectionate dog is mostly no submissive dog to you but people don't see it. So please no judgmental behaviour. All animals are great
He seems really intrigued and enthralled by these tiny cute animals, and they look at him with a lot of happiness and trust. His facial expression changed from curiosity to happiness and serenity!
He's so gentle and patient. When my sister had my niece we were worried how the GS would be but he is SO protective of her, tolerant of her and playful, even though he's a big boiii. Very loyal dogs, very family-oriented and loves pats just as much as any other dog. Love you Tyson!
When I got my cat, she was starving and super tiny and I was scared that my food would chase her or try to attack, but now my dog just keeps her distance like she’s scared of my tiny cat
The ONE problem with them is they do not stop barking at anyone who approaches the house in my experience, but they are good doggos just trying to protecc, so it’s fine
I think Rocky was being the babysitter while Mom got a break. And has probably not been allowed to be that hands on with them just a stand by close. So finally he got to cuddle. What an adorable video!
The kiss by the German shepherd to one of the kittens in the end after memorizing their scents is adorable. Also, how the kittens thinks he is there to babysit and play with them.
We adopted a German Shepherd at 2 years old and had him until he passed 8 years later, just an amazing dog. Took to our family right away, and was so loyal and had such a good temperament. We live in a rural area and he was just free range, never fenced at all. Never left the property, never went in the road to get hit unlike some other animals we’ve had, and he absolutely kept the coyotes at bay. He would stand on the porch and bark, and I would find tracks in the snow all around the perimeter of our property. That dog also loved water, be it lakes, rivers, or sprinklers. And the ball…he was all about the ball, all day, every day. Throw the ball, throw the ball, come on, just throw the ball…he would roll it to my foot and be like, “Hey! You touched the ball, you must want to throw it”….
Wat a great story, thank you. Between 1993 and 1998 i had a black labrador named Sam. The vet must euthanise him because he had problems with is hart valve. He died to young. Sometimes still miss him. Greetings from Belgium.
This made my day. The instantly show their adorable little bellies to him which shows the trust they have for that good boy. Such an adorable video, make sure to give ur pup extra treats for being such an amazing surrogate paw!
So cute! The dog has strong parental instincts. It’s like he’s cooing “what are you rascals doing in my bed” to the kittens in a baby voice 🥰😊 The kittens can clearly tell this because they look like they want to pay with him ❤️✨
German shepherds are known for being super gentle with smaller animals. One time, my youngest brother put a Guinea pig right beside our German shepherd and he did nothing, but smell the Guinea pig, didn’t even try to bite it.
Oh, bless him. He's keeping a careful eye on any strays in case they get into trouble and he looks like he'd like to lay down with them but is concerned about squashing them. I'm sure if he lays down first they will be all over him and he'll love it.
Rocky is just a loving good boy👍🥰 He would never try to throw the babies out of bed like funny Bailey 😄 He makes sure everything is okay and takes very good care of his sweet little "flock" 😻❤🐾
Hallo 🙂 !
@@solveiglandvikbrg9103 Hello Solveig, At least Bailey's "famous" bed seems to be the biggest, prettiest, fluffiest and cosiest in this house😄🙃Greetings from northern Germany 👋
I like how the dog keeps looking at the kitten that isn't on the bed. I can't tell if he thinks the kitten is less safe than the others, thus giving said kitten more attention. Or if he's thinking "You're not on my bed. You're my favorite."
I wondered if he thought it was the most alert and active one and thus he had to keep an eye on it less it snuck up on him or playfully launched an attack on him.
Thanks to whoever uploaded this video. We're living in an era where a lot of people have forgotten what kindness and tenderness are, and this video is a perfect example of it. Ten thumbs up! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
rocky is looking to the owner like " seriously? couldnt you just picked 1 or 2 ? by the way... isnt this my couchy couchy bed? " lol his reaction is priceless
It's amazing how such a large animal can grasp that these are tiny, fragile little fuzzballs and take the utmost care around them, and also watch over them in a sense. What a good doggo.
He's looking at them and sniffing them like "why so tiny" 🥰🥰 seeing German Shepherds interact with little animals always melts my heart cuz they're always so gentle and careful around the little ones 💖
It's so inspiring to see a big dog he so nice and gentle with little kittens. This is how all people should raise their dogs to act! So much more heart warming!
Rocky is much like a new dad being afraid to hold their newborn not wanting to break them. I know I felt that way with my daughter as she was tiny. Now she's almost driving. Help me.
I feel you man, that worry is never gonna go away. We just need to learn to manage it and trust that we hopefully taught the kids to make smart choices.
@@palmstring1 be a gentle is alway a good thing. You will never know when you reach someone... And as a person who have problem... I can confirm that... See the comment below yours.being gentle is never a waste. ❤❤❤
Aww, the kittens are so comfortable around him. No hissing and no puffy tails. They're just like, "Oh hey, the big fluffy thing that sniffs our butts is back."
Can't believe how gentle he is with these tiny tots, he could quite easily squish them being so big in comparison. And you can see that the tiny tots are totally in love with him 💕
