France was required to allow Germany room around the mark because they tacked in the zone, and Germany was fetching the mark. I think this is clearly a penalty on France.
Port and Starboard doesn't count once you're inside the mark circle. The 1st to hit the circle has right of way. Germany should've realized slightly earlier that they would lose buoy room and have to do something else. I'm guessing they didn't want to tack, because they'd have to dip behind the NZ boat that was heading up on Starboard.
Ikr? And each boat having a huge flat screen TV on top of the mast to show its speed and nationality. Good thing they didn't capsize of that would void the warranty I imagine.
new kind of golf, the marathon golf. Players all start at the same point with different ball's colors and number on the ball and staggering start, 1 player per 10 sec then it's 1st man at the 18th hole... see the golfer run carrying their caddie (because, no help to carry the clubs)... that could look like biathlon, effort and trying to suppress the heart rate once on site etc etc... running endurance how fast you can calm down precision observation (you have to observe wind and ground condition on the run) could be fun to watch...
The Germans obviously miss the tallywack on their way to secure the crimcrom and you can see the French fimbozzle in the rumzone. Obviously a French penalty
That would mean tacking, which would completely kill their speed and probably put them on port tack (no right of way) in front of oncoming boats on starboard tack. I think it still would've been the better move, though. So you're right.
i know nothing about this sport so i could be wrong, but what i've gathered from the footage, the commentators and the comments here is that...whoever reaches the yellow circle first, gets right of way, which is why you see germany bee-lining the yellow circle itself and not the "pod" in the middle. after losing the yellow circle to france, the commentator starts saying "germany must keep clear" which i'm assuming is actually refering to germany having to let france have right of way and not interfere in their path, but the germans suddenly appear to lose their minds, forget the rules and try to force themselves in regardless (hmmm why does this sound familiar 🤔?)...anywho...you can then see france actually get startled by it and begin to open up, seeing as germany was planning to force their way through (wait no serriously, why does this sound sooo familiar?)
Podía perfectamente abrir la trazada a la derecha y hacerlo la pasada más larga. Claramente es un momento tenso se ha elegido la acción menos favorable.
Some days ago i had too look at the bottom of my K2 Beach Cat from below to avoid a capsize. But thats a lot smaller (18ft) and slower. Was more funny than dangerous ,but at least we did it.
the german boat was definetly faster .. and the French one blocked the Room .. i am not shure if this is fair or even within the rules of this sport ...
@@rebenton8112 thats a reason i dont like shorts .. they only display something without the Backstory .. mostly too less information for the right conclusions
Ils avaient trop de vitesse pour les suivre sans percuter, ils on essayé de passe à l’intérieur du virage mais pas assez de place donc obligé de pas prendre le virage. Obligé de faire demi tour
And the video stops just when Switzerland and UK are on a collision course... Could have had two for one in regard to "just avoided a disaster" theme. 😂
