I germinate Giant Pumpkin seeds 5 different ways and show you the difference between a grow light and a window as well as how container size effects the plants.
Nice video showing the difference heat and warmth can do. Plus size of container. I’m looking to start mine soon. Just had 4” of snow last week and wasn’t able to get out to amend my soil, gotta love NE Wi But still have time! Good luck!
Good video I like to wrap them in a wet towel, but I like your idea starting them in Soil they might as well spend their energy cracking out of the soil, but I think I will start them in a bigger pot like a 2 gallon pot and put the heating mat under the 2 gallon pot no transplanting until we go to the garden
Mike I’ve struggled with leggy plants before. Once they germinate do you exclude them from all natural light totally? Also, how long do you keep your grow light on them during the day?
So hypothetically... if you needed to delay your planting due to bad weather or something you could slow down its growth by reducing its light/warmth and it would be healthy still?
I think I learned something valuable, that if I predig my planting hole the exact size of my putted pumpkin it will make transplanting easier. Thank you for the video!
Do you think it was the pot size difference more so than the distance from from the grow light that caused the second largest to be stunted when compared to the largest? I’m playing with the distance from my light right now to try and find a sweet spot but time is running out before the real deal!
