This is what happens when you remain true to your talent and calling. Gerphil defied the stereotype of a filipino singer. Every girl and her auntie in the Philippines sings pop. Gerphil had a different taste. She loved classical music and pursued it. She knows how to appreciate music legacy. She isn't ashamed to sing classic oldies in classic style. And boy oh boy, can she sing! I just love how she seamlessly shifts from her normal voice to operatic soprano. Her eyes are lovely, her smile is so enchanting, She is like a suspense movie thriller when she sings. She captivates and gets you hooked at the beginning, and then she totally devastates you in the end. Brava!
Rod Els i think this comment is very well put together. we should stay true to what we love. Gerphil's talent cannot penetrate the masses here in the philippines but she's in the international ladder now because she keeps doing what she loves!
In X factor uk, i was rooting for 4th impact. For AGT i become a fan of this girl with beautiful voice. Philippines sure have great talents. Btw i'm from Malaysia. :D

I was able to watch Ms. Gerphil Flores in a theater play here in the Philippines. Her voice is much much more powerful in real life, I tell you guys. No bias, she deserves this fortunate event in her career.

Exactly, Enough with the PGT comments already. If she had won PGT, that would most likely be it for her and she deserves so much more than just the world after PGT. I just watched the finals video and yes, I can't believe that the judges AND the public voted for some run-of-the-mill singer who is 'current' and 'relevant' with good vocals but is not at all unique. I don't agree with it but I can understand why this happened. It's not just the judges but also the public who voted. Remember that. Judges merely give their input and it's up to the contestants to take their advice. Gerphil stuck to what she really does because there is a place for her, just not on PGT. So, I think the PGT judges did her a favour. It didn't seem like it then but look at it now, because Gerphil-Geraldine's loss made her aim higher, for the AGT stage, to sing the in the presence of international stars and to a much broader audience.

David Foster is a star maker, loves her, and I have no idea who the other judges even are. Others have already covered the compliments but I'm surprised no one mentioned her captivating eyes. Don't think I've seen quite that color before. Icing on the cake.

is it true? she's half german and half Filipino that is why her name is gerphil ( germany-philippines). im a german and im proud of her. this is the reason why i love to track Philippines because of music and talent. i also want to go there with my friends just to see Urbandub's last concert on May 09 cuz they are disbanding and that day is my birthday i saved enough money but my dad do not allow me. damn it really hurts me alot that day should be one of my unforgettable birthday of my entire life.

Not only is she extremely good in singing she is articulate and smart with her answers, and also beautiful. Her loss in PGT had a reason, and this is it. I'll bet all my marbles that she's gonna make it all the way to the top. The Philippines is just not ready for your kind of talent, well let them be because you deserve the world stage. Go Gerphil!

In 2010, she experienced rejection as a former contestant in the Philippine version of the Got Talent competition. She was only 19 then and she sang like a professional opera singer - beautifully and passionately. Just watched Abunda and Aquino tonight. May pagkabiased talaga ang ABSCBN. They never mentioned that Gerphil was also one of the finalists na nakapasok sa Grand Finals. They only mentioned Gwyneth, JNS and El Gamma. So unfair talaga. Dahil dito mas gusto ko na tuloy manalo si Gerphil para ipamukha kay Kris and Ai Ai na mali ang desisyon nila before sa PGT. Tsk tsk tsk. Alam na ngayon na sinasala talaga ng ABSCBN ang mga news na dapat ilabas just to protect certain people.

“Didn’t reach the highest notes??” Geraldine 'Gerphil" Flores shoved already in the 1st round a flawless pitch and it is amazing how the Filipino judges, as already been said in the comments below, ruled her out by such an unprofessional judgement as above. This young singer has a strong unique and at the same time lyrical soprano voice and one can feel that she has much more to give of her capacity if needed. In the Phantom ballad she excelled on the high last A#4 with beautiful well balanced consistent vibrato. She radiates such a confidence which brings something extra to her voice and her whole performance. Ms. Flores already has a good education with a B.Mus. and continues to gain experience by proper training. She is gradually raising in fame, winning contest after contest and by now and a world star. I am sure many of us want to see her on the world stages, whether she will pursuit an opera career or stay in the classical cross-over genre. Swerte.

I can only compare her voice as a cold water gushing out from a spring that once a weary and thirsty traveler kneels down, scoop the water and brings it to his parched lips and allow the coldness and sweetness of the water quench away his thirst the relief that it brings can immediately ignite a question on the traveler's mind by what fate that NATURE has placed the life-giving water along his path. I don‘t know why other disliked her performance. SHE WAS AMAZING! So relaxed while singing, she is a true singer! She definitely has my vote, GO GERPHIL!!

This is real talent that has potential for international audience. Wow! You failed in your country, you definitely made the right move to step up. That voice is magnificent that could carry you in the international stage. I'm tempted to shout - " I'm a Filipino," while you sing those songs. "Shine on Philippines, shine on Gerphil."
Not as good as her audition piece, but still a performance worthy of Broadway and the West End. She already has a career guaranteed even if she doesn't win this. David Foster said just as much. Well done, Gerphil. Show Kris Aquino, Aiai Delas Alas, and the rest of your doubters what you're made of.
***** Point taken sir, and that was the point of my comment. Why were they judges again? Because they're just famous attention whores. Just that. They weren't qualified to be judges. They were just doubters who couldn't see talent even if it hit them in the face.
stephpaulred Point taken. She demolished the competition in the audition, and I frankly expected more from her here in the semis. But if we compare her to the other contestants, she's still leagues ahead. So, to me at least, she only has to better herself or stay on top of her game in order to win this.
Gosh! What a beautiful voice, and an astonishing performance. It really feels my heart... I'm so touched and mezmerized with her beautiful voice... I did not noticed at all that my tears are falling down from my eyes... i love it! Go Gerphil and Go Philippines and goodluck to our neighboring countries...
