Baby steps. Its spring training a dead arm period .Cole will be okay as long as he is pain free.

Needed more starts in Somerset. This is not spring training. Cole looks non competitive this evening. He was off from pitch one...really disappointing performance.
He almost gets pissed a couple times with the questions. I don't blame him because they go back and forth with the same questions. Cole will get better ❤. Same questions over and over WTH.
I was almost hoping he wouldn't come back out the next inning after giving up the back to back. The season is a marathon he has been out a very long time I would have rather kept his pinch count at that, then send him back out fresh off an injury when he clearly didn't have it from the start. He got some in game ABs in make it a short night see how he's feeling tomorrow and if everything is good take the mound in 5 days and take it from there. Nothing wrong with a short night if you don't have it coming back from that long of a lay off and injury. But naw just leave him out there struggling when he clearly didn't have it to get torn up that will help his confidence moving foward and the unnecessary pitch count on the elbow is great too. Casual fans don't understand the injury and return process and how long he was off and not even throwing but he will be fine.
I wonder if they rushed him coming back, the velocity and movement was there, but he just wasn't hitting his spots. And he wasn't missing by a lot, but he was missing by just the amount that gets you in trouble. That's not like him. Let's hope he looks better next time.
Fun fact about Gerit cole he has an era of over 6.00 versus the Mets in his entire career the highest of any of the 30 mlb franchises. And coming off of injury He was doomed the second the first run was scored. And then the 3 home runs. I’m not sure why he was credited for the loss as when he left it was 0-6 the game ended 7-9.
Gerrit this year is not showing a dominant pitching repertoire Hard time to get hitters out also throwing more more than 20 pitches per inning he is a 4 innings pitcher
The Yankees Trainers and doctor's are what they are. Most of the players that are injured are either misdiagnosed originally or their rehab or time to recovery and and return to play are way off. Not just Cole. He is not ready, rushed back or worse he should have had an operation and they didn't go there first. I won't be surprised to hear he needs corrective surgery eventually.
This is an ace???? An ace is someone who goes 24 and 3 or 25 and 4, that's not this guy.. his best record was 20 and 5 allegedly using spider tack. I never liked this guy as the so-called rotation ace. He does talk a good game but that's about it.
Allowed alot of home runs in a game since 2022 season. Geez great i only know how that season did 🫥 looks like this season is starting to look like that again
Gerrit, this is not like you, buddy. You gave up 4 bombs and didn't strike out anybody? I understand you might give up one homer, but 4 of them?!? That's not you. Now, let's hope that Gil pitches better tomorrow.
Not really sure why he was rushed back. As good as the team was doing (at the time) they could of left him down for the entire month to build up to full strength and dial his mechanics in. As long as he is pain free, he will figure it out.
The Yanks are a weird team they have been mostly the best team in Baseball now they might be the worst team in Baseball… Their lineup has lots of easy outs!
@@z-man6176just like the Yankees have flopped over the last 15 years. A lot of high hopes then shot down by the same team over and over and over again. The “old” Yankees are gone new age baseball is here the Yankees aren’t the kings anymore
@@jamesps7515 taking trash about a team that hasn’t won in 15 while yours hasn’t won in almost 40 🤡 Mets arent even in the kings debate maybe the jesters
